Ethan:
Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim left town
early this morning; they’ve taken possession of their townhomes; and are in the
process of moving the furniture and the rest of their supplies into them – a job
that they won’t get finished until sometime tomorrow afternoon. I know that this is an amazing start to their
college adventures for them; but I’ll skip writing more about that because it’d
mean dealing with that impending separation from our big sister – and I’m not
quite ready to do that tonight.
Instead of going there, while we saw Cassie
and Michael before they left; Ehlana and I were on our own with Mom and Dad for
Tai Chi while they grabbed a fast breakfast to go and went to meet up with
Rowen and Tim; their trip was the top chat topic at breakfast; and then we all
tried to ignore that and got to work.
That was at the office for Dad; Mom split her time between home and the
lab; and Ehlana and I worked at the lab all morning. We’ve played with our friends this afternoon;
Naomi and Aiden had dinner with us – and with Mom and Dad; and then we spent
the evening at the park while the co-ed ball practice was going on.
Naomi and Aiden are staying for another
sleepover. Mom did a Magi lesson with us
after the practice; and now we’re getting ready for bed – and a sleepover in
the lounge so that we can watch movies until we do fall asleep. Yes, there will be cuddling involved in that
for Naomi and me; but as usual; try to remember that we’re seven and it’s no
big deal!
I need to get to that last part of our play
night now; so that’s all of the news for me.
I’m sure that Cassie has a much more-interesting report for today –
though I have no idea whether she’ll be writing that tonight or not.
Maybe she’ll be too busy with her first
sleepover in their townhouses! I won’t
say more about that, but you have to admit that it’ll be funny if I end up
having more cuddle time with Naomi tonight than Cassie gets with Michael while
away and parent-free!
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
It’s the first of August; and we’re running
out of time – just a week and a half to go before Cassie goes away to
college. They’re away for the first two
days and will be working a lot after that until they’re done work at the end of
next week; so we won’t even get to spend all that much time with them before
they go. I’m trying not to get too sad
about that – especially when this is so exciting for Cassie and Michael; but I
am still going to miss them a lot.
Mom, Dad, and Ethan are feeling that way
too; which is why we were all happy to throw ourselves into our work
today. For Ethan and me, that meant
working at the lab this morning; and then we had another play afternoon with
our friends – and got to enjoy another beautiful day that was sunny and hot;
but not too-hot. We still biked a lot,
swam when we wanted to cool off, and played at the park playground; and then
Naomi and Aiden stayed with us for dinner, the co-ed ball practice at the park,
and a sleepover. Some parents, by the
way, went out to Sheldon’s after the practice, but while babysitting was
available; Mom and Dad decided not to go out this time because he had work to
do and Mom wanted to do a Magi lesson with us.
We had fun with that; we – the four kids –
had baths or showers after that; and now we’re getting ready for movies and a
sleepover in Cassie’s lounge while she’s away.
That’s going to be fun – and it will help Ethan and me to have our best
friends staying with us tonight too.
Maybe I’ll invite Naomi for a week-long sleepover for the first week
that Cassie will be gone!
I do want to get back to the play time now,
though, and I guess that is all of the news I have for tonight; so let’s wrap
this up and I’ll go and do that.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
