Cassie's Journal - February 28, 2018

It’s the last day of the month, but while it feels as though I should mark the occasion with a more significant update, I’m tired; and getting the extra sleep option is the one I’m going to pick over staying up any later than needed.

We’ve had a good, uneventful, normal Wednesday around here.  Nothing exciting happened at school; I came home and worked and studied in the office with just a break for dinner; and we’ve all finished our work already; so I’m not the only person in the house going to bed now.  I might be the first to be asleep, which ought to be scary when the first-graders can out-last me, but they also rarely stay up studying until four in the morning too many times a week.

I don’t need to do that tonight, though, and that’s all I’m going to have for my report today; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - February 27, 2018

The weather flopped back into the extreme warm for this time of year today, and while it was pretty nice yesterday; we topped out at seventy today!

Too bad for Michael and I that we had band and teen praise team practices today; or we might have been able to enjoy the warm a lot more than we did.  We were able to spend some time outdoors during school and at lunch, and we decided to have a dinner picnic for two at the park between practices instead of doing that at meal at my house; but we missed out on play time with the kids while busy the rest of the day.  Our practices went well, but the teen praise team practice was very long; and that meant another late night for me.  Michael and I didn’t get our homework started until a bit after ten; he went home at a bit before midnight; and I’ve been working hard on my computer since then to keep caught up with everything on my family business and languages studies to-do list.

Now I need to crash and nap; I’ll try to make it an early night tomorrow if I can; and then I’ll be right back to the busy again on Thursday.  I can write about all of that with future updates that you can flip digital pages to read whenever you’re doing this years, decades, or centuries from now; and that’s really all I have for tonight anyway; so, until next time...

Michael and me alone time and sofa sleepover – awesome!

Sunday morning Tai Chi, gourmet breakfast, and church serviced and Sunday school time with family and friends – as wonderful and heart-warming as always!

Weather – great for late February!

Family and friends lunch and afternoon play time including biking and park play time – the entertainment highlight of the day!

Buffet-to-close shift at the Inn – tip-erific! (Okay, I’m tired; and that’s the silly kicking in!)

Bedtime work and studying – finally finished!

Nap time – happening in a bed near me right now – so; until next time...

Cassie's Journal - February 24, 2018

Time crunch!

Michael’s on his way over; I’m going to keep him for another sofa sleepover; and don’t have time for a major update.

We had a great end to last night; the sofa sleepover was great; and then we’ve pretty much gone non-stop since waking up and getting ready for our work and play day.  The breakfast shift was quiet – probably because a lot of people from around here went to Maple Valley instead.  That’s where we headed once Miranda set us free; we met up with my family; had a blast at the winter festival; picked up all of our favorite maple syrup-based treats; and then needed to be home in time to work the dinner-to-close shift.

That was a quiet shift too, but we missed out on most of the rain we got around here today while at the Inn; so the weather didn’t get in the way of our fun at all.  Rain or cold won’t be an issue for cuddling with Michael all night either, but dragging this out will cut back on our time together, since he’s right outside and on his way up to the front door now; so I really have to go.

This isn’t much of a report for a really great family and friends day, but I don’t want the fun to end; so I’m just going to get back to it!
