Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 30, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Starting from our last update, we had fun at Aiden’s last night – from dinner through helping out with kid control during the co-ed ball practice and on to the co-ed camping that included in-tent movies and cuddle time.  We stayed up too late; got up early for Tai Chi by the river for four; and then we took care of breakfast for six with Aiden’s Mom and sister.  After that through to now we’ve had a full chores day at multiple homes – the usual weekend work done early in time for the holiday.  We had lunch at home with Mom, Aunt Leanne, and some cousins and their friends; and now we’re only home to pick up clean clothes and a few other things for a second night of camping in Aiden’s back yard.  We might be having dinner with the Seagers – that’s still being planned by the parents; so we’ll give you the rest of our adventures news with the next report.

The only other news we have for today is that the Everetts headed out this morning for the west coast and a visit with Uncle Mark’s family.  They’ll be out there for a bit more than a week; and we hope that they really have a blast with the Everett clan and what will surely be a very different kind of holiday celebration.

This isn’t much of a report for the last day of a month, but we’d rather just get started on the fun after a long day of hot, outdoor chores; so we’ll do that! ;^)

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 29, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’ve had another fun, happy day-so-far.  The weather has been awesome; we took care of some chores this morning; and then we played with our friends all afternoon – biking, swimming, and hanging out at the park or Aiden’s back yard.  We’ve set up a tent at Aiden’s for tonight; and we’re currently packing bags before heading over there soon.  We’re not taking our computers along; so the rest of the news for today can wait for our next report.

Flip the digital page to read all about our continuing adventures while we get back to living them! ;^)

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 28, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our movie time and sleepover last night was really great; and we especially-love our projector and big screen; since that almost feels like being at a theater – something we can’t even say we’ve done once a year on average with the pandemic shutdown years counted in to our eleven years.

Starting the day with Tai Chi and an easy-breakfast with Mom and Dad was great; and then our morning chores kept us busy for a couple of hours before we moved on to a bike ride with our friends.  We took a picnic along; added in park play and swim time with the biking on the trails; and then we got home in time for another swim before going to the park for the usual family ball practices and Pizzeria pizza picnic dinner.

The evening fun has not included another sleepover or camping night with Naomi and Aiden – they’re with their own families tonight because we needed to do some work in the office tonight along with a Magi lesson with Mom.  We still had fun with all of that; a time phase allowed us to get done with time for bath or Jacuzzi clean-ups; and now we’re nearly ready to crash and nap for the rest of the night.

We should take time to cover some news from around the world, but right now we’re feeling exhausted by the never-ending bad; and don’t want to dwell on those stories beyond anything related directly to our family business work.  All current events news is kept in the archives too and can be accessed by most Magi; so we really only do that to offer our own perspectives or commentary anyway.  Maybe simply being sick of it all is enough of a commentary; and we can wait for improvements around the world that would be worth writing about!

For now, we want to get some sleep after a couple of busy days; so that’s what we’ll do starting right now.

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 27, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our day has been fun with some chores this morning; a group canoe ride and picnic to and at the whirlpool; and a barbeque dinner with some extra guests.  Naomi and Aiden are spending the night; we’ve opted to do that in the lounge; and we’ll be starting our first movie soon after taking turns in a Jacuzzi or tub.  The details don’t really matter – only the fact that we’ve had a blast with our family, cousins, and friends.  Compared to Cassie’s mid-term exams – which for her this term means monitoring and grading those exams; we can only be very happy with our summer-play schedule.

That’s also all we have for tonight; since we also don’t want to get into any of the world news of the day.  We’ll get back to having fun with our best friends and leave all of that bad and sad to the grown-ups!

Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 26, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 1st Anniversary, Jillian and Julian!

Their special day was a top story at church this morning, and we wished them the best and delivered gifts from Cassie, Michael, and our family; so that was a fun cameo moment.

The movie and sleepover last night was really great; and the happy that we ended the day with continued this morning with Tai Chi by the river and a hot breakfast.  The video chat with Cassie and Michael while having that meal was entertaining; and then the church service and Sunday school kept us busy for the rest of the morning – a longer service that was jokingly a make-up session following the short Father’s Day message!

Dad really needed to work in the office this afternoon, so after lunch, we – and Naomi and Aiden – decided to bike the trail to Quarry Lake.  We didn’t have anyone else with us, but met up with some cousins and friends at the lake for an hour or so of play time before biking home again.  The mid-seventies high was perfect for the biking; and a bit on the cool side when it came to the cool-down swim in the river after we got home again.  Naomi and Aiden had other plans for dinner with their own families, so we split up after that; helped Mom with making our dinner-for-four; and then that meal and our evening has been quiet with a bit of work, a Magi lesson, and early Jacuzzi or tub time.

We need to catch up on our sleep tonight, since we really want to be ready for another week of summertime fun with our friends; and that’s especially-true heading into a holiday weekend.  We also want to spend more time in the lab or archives, but we’ll see how that goes; since it is tough to stay indoors whenever the weather is awesome.  That is enough for this update; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland soon.
