Cassie's Journal - June 29, 2017

I got called in for the breakfast shift; worked on chores at home all day when I wasn’t at the Inn – including doing my family business work of the day; and then I worked the dinner-to-close shift at the Inn that was busier than normal thanks to a lot of people coming to town to shop ahead of the holiday weekend.  Michael and I got soaked coming home from work thanks to a nice thunderstorm and perfect timing – or lousy timing; depending on your perspective.

I had a shower after getting home; this update is part of my last bit of bedtime computer work; and now I’m ready to crash and nap again – even though it isn’t really all that late right now.  Yes, I’m skipping all of the details, and I did have some fun here and there while working all day, but I’ll be even busier tomorrow, and really need the down time; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - June 28, 2017

Happy 17th Birthday, Joshua!

Michael and I popped out to his place and delivered a gift and card today, but Joshua’s main birthday fun was a night out in the city with Sally; and they chose to do the dinner and a movie thing without any friends or family along.  They also both worked today too, and are working tomorrow; so they were not staying in Crystal Springs for the night or anything quite that exciting!

Then again, my day wasn’t that exciting either.  Michael worked the breakfast and dinner-to-close shifts; I did my family business work and chores around the house while he was busy with a lot of that; and had my ball practice after dinner.  The visit with Joshua had been short, and Michael and I had some fun during his afternoon break; but that didn’t include any newsworthy adventures – mostly because it was very hot out this afternoon; and we didn’t want to do anything too strenuous – though we did have fun with a long swim.

My ball practice was cut short thanks to a thunderstorm that rolled through town, but that was only a bit shorter; and we got home before getting dumped on.  Michael isn’t coming over tonight; I’m going to bed early once I’m done with this and the Jacuzzi time that I’m enjoying while multi-tasking the bedtime computing; and then I’ll be glad to get the extra rest again tonight.  The busy is going to kick up a few notches tomorrow, so feel free to read on while I wrap this up and head off to bed; and, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - June 27. 2017

Tai Chi by the river in the fog is a bit freaky; but fun! ;^)

There really isn’t a lot to report for today, but I get to have another early night; so let’s get to it so I can get on with the sleeping part of my day.

I spent the morning doing chores and my family business work while Michael worked at home too; we had a play afternoon that included a picnic at the park with the twins, Naomi, and Aiden; bike riding on the trails at the park and around town; and one swim in the river before I went to have dinner at Michael’s house.  That was both fun and delicious as we got to try out an experimental gourmet meal and have fun with Michael’s parents and sister; we caught a bit of Ehlana’s ball practice on our way to the church for our teen praise team practice; and then we had some music fun while getting ready for the holiday weekend service.  Michael came home with me after that for a bit of quiet cuddle time in the lounge, but went home early because he’s working the breakfast shift in the morning; and so that I could end my day comparatively-early too before we’ll both be into the busy that will keep us on the go through until after the Fourth of July.

I’ll have more on that as we get to the holiday weekend, but I really do want the extra nap time tonight; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - June 26, 2017

This is going to be a fairly-boring update.  We had rain and thunderstorms roll through here off and on all day; so I ended up doing a lot of work and chores while Michael worked at home ahead of the holiday weekend – and we’re hoping for better weather for playing outdoors tomorrow.  The bottom line is that I got all of my family business work done during the day while doing chores around here too; Michael and I had some quiet play time here that started at dinnertime and continued until he went home at a bit after ten; and I’ll be sleeping before eleven because I’m tired and ready for the bonus nap time.

We’ll try to have more summertime-rated fun tomorrow, but that’s actually all I have for you tonight; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - June 25, 2017

We had a pretty good morning with Tai Chi by the river; a gourmet breakfast – for me – at Michael’s house; and our church service and Sunday school fun that included some prep work for the teens ahead of the holiday weekend service in the park.  After that, it was almost all work for Michael, me, and everyone else working at the Inn, and while we had a lot of fun mixed in too; it’s been a tough day and I’m ready to crash and nap now.

I didn’t miss much around home today because Dad needed to work too; Mom, Ethan, and Ehlana split their time between playing and hanging out at the lab for a couple of hours while Dad was busy; and the twins were with their best friends for dinner and the evening while I worked until we closed the Inn at ten-thirty.  Michael took me home with him; we had a bedtime visit with his parents; and a bit of cuddle time after they went to bed for the night.  I came home at eleven-thirty because I had work to do on my computer; I multi-tasked some of that with a bit of Jacuzzi time; and did the rest of my work once I was tucked in for the night with Mandy.  That included an hour and a half of work in ‘real’ time; which is why it’s heading toward three o’clock now – and a big part of the reason for my total lack of energy.

Michael has the next two days off, but will be spending time helping his parents with the chores to get ready for the holiday weekend too; so we’ll see how much time we have left over after the work for playing.  I can keep you posted on that as the week goes along, though, and should be sleeping right now instead of dragging this update out with my mental meanderings; so I’m going to get to that nap right now.

Until next time...
