Heirs of the Magi Books Now Available at the iBookstore

Magi Sanctuary and Magi Master are now both available at the Apple iBookstore.  The iBook app is a free download for the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, and you can access the iBookstore through it.  Search for Magi Sanctuary, Magi Master, or Steve Leggett to locate the books, and they can be purchased for just $2.99 for Magi Sanctuary, and $4.99 for Magi Master.

***Christmas is less that four weeks away!***

In an earlier post, I mentioned ebook readers would be big this year, but for those of you looking for multi-purpose technology, the iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches do all give you that, and an ebook reader too!  Getting your kids or teens to read more could be just an iPhone or iPod Touch away.

Heirs of the Magi Blog Development

While this blog has initially been set up to provide readers with updates relating to the Heirs of the Magi trilogy, I do ultimately have other plans for it, starting sometime in 2011.  Those plans are just being worked on now, and I'd been very interested in any suggestions readers might have for content that could be incorporated into the blog, working from the core idea that the posts here would be tied into one or more of the story characters; possibly in the form of a personal journal.

All suggestions and ideas will be welcome, and very much appreciated.

Heirs of the Magi Updates

It's been a busy week since my last post.  Magi Master has arrived at the Barnes & Noble e-store, and in case I haven't mentioned it before, seeing Kayla's book covers for Sanctuary and Master at major retailers is very cool.

Magi Ascension writing has been a bit frustrating this week, partly because of distractions, and also because of the need to do more research that I needed to have ready to tie the current section of the story into the next section.  I expect another fairly slow week of writing, and then it should pick up again as storyline events come together.

Have a great rest of the week and weekend, and I'll post again soon.

Magi Sanctuary Now at Diesel eBook Store

The World Famous Diesel eBook Store has added Magi Sanctuary to it's inventory of more than 2.2 million ebooks.  Search for either Magi Sanctuary or Steve Leggett to quickly locate my book.  Magi Master should be available there soon too!

Magi Master is at the Sony Ebook Store

Magi Master is now available at the Sony Reader Store.  The easiest way to find my books is to type Steve Leggett into the search box, which brings up a page with both of my books.

Hopefully, both books will be available at all of the major e-book stores soon!

Weekend Update

As expected, I've passed the one hundred page mark for Magi Ascension this weekend.  While that isn't really that big of a deal, it does seem that when I get to a certain point in putting a story together, that the writing goes along more smoothly as the storyline becomes clearer to me.

There isn't any news with Magi Sanctuary or Magi Master this weekend.  It will probably be another week or so before Magi Master is available at any of the big e-retailers, and hopefully both books will make the list at the apple store soon too.

Have a great last week of October, everyone.  I'll post again sometime mid-week.

Magi Ascension Update

I've been working on Book Three every day since the last update, and should pass the one hundred page mark sometime in the next few days.  Research is ongoing too, and will probably take up half of my writing time over the next month or two.  Time to get back to that work, so I'll keep this short, and leave a longer post sometime this weekend.

Magi Sanctuary is at the Sony e-book store and Barnes & Noble!

Magi Sanctuary has arrived at the Sony E-book Store and at Barnes & Noble E-books

A search for Magi Sanctuary at each site brings the book up at the top of the list.  Magi Master will probably be available at these two e-stores sometime in the next two to three weeks.

Magi Master Approved for Premium Catalogue!

An early morning puppy pit stop request had me out of bed, awake, and ready to start writing.  The day has gotten off to a great start after finding out that Magi Master has already been approved for the Smashwords premium catalogue on first submission!

I'll keep you posted on when Magi Sanctuary and Magi Master are actually available at e-stores such as the iStore, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Diesel, and others.

And now, back to working on Magi Ascension!

Magi Ascension - Book Three News

I'll be keeping you posted on how Magi Ascension is coming along.  There has been a lot of prep work and research done in preparation for writing the third book, and the actual writing is really just getting started now.  The biggest challenge has been getting everything ready for the plot continuation after a seven year jump in time, including building the history of those years, and getting ready for things like college, new friends, and have it all fit in with the plot.  Hopefully you'll all like where I'm going to take the Magi!  Check back regularly for what will be at least weekly progress updates.

A Busy Weekend

It's been a busy weekend of editing, and though I needed to take a one-day break a couple of days ago, I'm still a bit ahead of schedule to have Magi Master ready to publish this month.

I've mentioned in earlier posts that editing is not exactly my favorite part of writing, and while I wouldn't dream of giving anything away, this second weekend in October was way more exciting for the main characters in Magi Master than it was for me here in the real world.  Then again, that's one of the fun things about writing - getting to create a different reality, and then going to play there whenever you want.

Time to get some sleep.  Have a great week, everyone!

Magi Sanctuary was approved today for the Premium Catalogue!

It was very exciting this evening to find out that Magi Sanctuary has been approved for inclusion in the Smashwords premium catalogue.  That means that it will soon be available at the Apple, Sony, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Diesel online stores!

I'll update once the book does actually become available at those e-stores, but for now, I'm suddenly motivated to work late on editing Magi Master.  Have a great day, and check back regularly for new posts.

Finding E-Book Readers and Reader Software

Finding e-book readers and software can be a pain, so I thought that a post with some links would be helpful.

If you're looking for an actual e-book reader, then there are readers available at prices ranging from @ $100 and going up into the $500 range.  Kindle is probably the best known now, though there are many other good ones available, including from Sony, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and others.

Kindle Store

Walmart e-book readers - Various Brands

Walmart Canada - Kobo and Sony e-readers
**Note that prices change, and I'm told the Kobo is selling for less than advertised on the website.

If you're looking for readers for you iPod, iPad, or iPhone, there are free apps available at the istore, including Stanzi and Kindle apps.

Apple App Store - Kindle Apps

Apple App Store - Stanza e-book reader app

Kindle is also available for your Blackberry.  Type "amazon.com/kindlebb" (without the quotes) into your blackberry browser to download the program.

There are many e-book readers for PC's, so I'll just list a few of them here.

Kindle for PC

Stanza e-book Reader

Barnes and Noble Nook e-reader for PC, iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android, etc.

Happy Reading!

Magi Master Update, and other news

The editing for Magi Master is coming along, and I'm closing in on being 50% finished.  This is one of the toughest parts of the writing process for me, mostly because of my sight limitations, and how challenging it is to track down all of the little errors that happen when the draft story is written.  I am meeting my daily goals, though, and I'm happy with how the book is shaping up.

Over at Smashwords, I'm still on the learning curve with Magi Sanctuary, and have needed to make a few, minor formatting changes to get the ebook ready for their premium catalogue.  When my book is approved for that, it will be available at most of the major online book retailers.

Well, it's now a new month here, and time to get a little sleep.  Have a great TGIF and weekend!

First Official Book Sales!

It made for an exciting day when I found out that my first official ebook sales have happened.  I hope those of you who were kind enough to buy Magi Sanctuary enjoy the book, and Thank-you so much for your support.

Needless to say, that news had me motivated, and the work I've been doing on book two - Magi Master - went very well today.  I'm on-track to have it ready to publish by no later than the end of October.

Heirs of the Magi is now on Twitter too, so check us out at Heirsone.  All followers are welcome.

Check back again soon - there will be much more coming to the Heirs of the Magi blog!
