Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 11, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Since our last update, we’ve enjoyed awesome weather; and had a lot of fun with our family and friends – even with the usual Saturday chores thrown into the mix.

Our after-school adventures included setting up our tent by the river; some biking on the trails; and then the family-and-friends’ barbeque dinner.  While we didn’t have extra campers at our house, some of our cousins set up tents at other homes; and we ended up hosting a campfire at dusk for most of those camping kids and a small gang of parents.  That little blast of fun followed some park play time, canoe rides, and more biking; Naomi and Aiden helped us with providing the main musical entertainment for the campfire; and then we eventually moved on to the co-ed camping that was definitely a happy highlight of our day!

Tai Chi by the river this morning was awesome; Dad cooked a big breakfast for us; and then we split up to either get started on the chores or check out the first ‘family’ baseball game of the day.  On the baseball side of our news for today, that first game was with Sebastian, Caleb, and their Med Center Marshals team; and they won their first game of the season over the Witch Falls Wranglers.  Ehlana, Naomi, and the Bakery Belles earned a big win over the Sapphire Senioritas – the 12-4 score all that needs to be written to show how lop-sided their victory was this morning.  Aiden and I were playing our game at the same time, so we didn’t get to watch our favorite girls.  We didn’t impress quite as much as the girls did, but we – the Bakery Bobcats – won by a score of 8-4 over Connor’s cheetahs.  We did that despite the antics that Zack and Eli brought to the game, but considering their previous baseball records; we’ll take the win.

Since our parents are also our coaches, we all needed to take that time off from chores for the games.  That’s why it took longer to get our work done after the games.  We didn’t get the chores finished until three-thirty; and then we spent the rest of the afternoon swimming in the river to cool off; playing at the park; and doing a bit of biking on the park trails.  We had a comparatively-quiet barbeque dinner with three sets of parents and only one sibling – Hailey; and then our evening included a canoe ride that pretty much brings us up to now.

We’re currently taking turns for bath or Jacuzzi time; so we’re getting this report done while Naomi and Aiden are taking their turns.  We’re camping again tonight; and plan on heading for our sleeping bags soon because we’re all tired; and don’t want to stay up late again.  The comparatively-early start to the co-ed cuddle time is just a really awesome bonus! ;^)

That is all we have for this update.  We’re happy; it has been a good day; and we don’t want to mess with that by getting into any unhappy world news – so we won’t go there tonight.  We probably shouldn’t do that as often as we have lately, but we are still kids; and can get away with at least pretending that world events aren’t central to our everyday lives.  We have a couple of things to get done before resuming the camping fun with our friends; so that’s all we have for now; and we’ll move on to get those last bits of computing done next and now.

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
