Ethan:
My roommate for the night is sleeping, and
I won’t be awake much longer either; since this has been a very long, busy day.
We worked for most of the day with just a
bit of play time here and there along the way; Ehlana and I helped out with kid
control during Cassie’s going away party – though we did have some teen and
parental support; and then I was at the playground for most of the Wasps’ game
because that’s what Marcus, Zack and the other guys wanted to do while our
older cousins were trying to earn their spot in the Labor Day weekend
championship game. They did that; so now
we just need to hope that Mom and Dad can help their team get into that game
too so we can have a bit of a family feud kind of battle.
The play time left me with less time to
spend with Cassie, but while Ehlana’s going to have a sleepover with Cassie, I’m
going to skip that chat; since Ehlana needs that extra time with Cassie more
than I do – not to mention that girl chat can be very scary!
We have a breakfast at the Inn to get to in
the morning, a long trip that some of us are stuck doing in a booster seat; and
then a lot more work and fun to be had after that once we get to Cassie’s
home-away-from home for the next five years.
That’s another good reason to nap instead of staying up a bit longer;
Cassie’s back from taking Silkie for her bedtime run around the back yard or
walk; and I’ll need to get her settled down so that she doesn’t wake Marcus; so
that’s all I have for tonight.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Let’s make this quick because Cassie and I
are going to have a last-minute sisters’ sleepover. Valerie Malloy is already sleeping in the
other bed in my room, but she’ll be out for the night; and won’t miss me.
We had a busy work day; Ethan and I helped
Mom and Cassie with different jobs; and then we had the going away party for
Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim. The
highlights for that included the Malloys surprising us with an overnight visit
just to come to Cassie’s party; and the going away to college gifts were four
top-of-the-line laptop computers that the parents got for them – and that Owen
built for them. We had a Wasps’ ballgame
to watch at the park in support of our cousins, and thanks to all of the extra
cheerleaders; we helped Violet, Dillon, and the rest of their team to the
eighteen-to-fifteen win over the Stingers.
Mom and Dad hosted a travel meeting for the
four new collegians and their parents to go over the ravel plans for tomorrow
and a few other details that were more about things like long-distance plans
for smartphones – particularly for things like data for video calls and
everything else they’ll need their phones for while away. Ethan and I weren’t in on that meeting
because we in the lounge with Valerie and Marcus. They fell asleep by the time the meeting was
over; the Dads helped us out with getting them tucked into beds in our rooms;
and their parents have just left for the Inn because they’re getting to have a
five-star, kid-free night.
Cassie’s walking Silkie while I’m getting
ready for bed and doing this; and then we’re going to have a bedtime chat and
then get some sleep before we’ll need to be up and going again. Tomorrow is the big moving day, but we do at
least get to spend the weekend with Cassie first before she’ll be starting her
college adventure; so I’m just going to be happy for the time we will still get
to spend with her – including the cameo bit of fun we’re going to have right
now. I am out of here and off to do
that, but stay tuned; since there’s a lot more to come this weekend!
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
