Happy 2nd Anniversary, Jake and
Stephanie!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been two
years – especially when they’ve only been home from college for less than three
months!
We’ve had a blast today, but I’m also tired
out, so let’s get to the news of the day; starting with the teen time last night.
We watched a movie with Rowen and Tim;
Michael and I had a major make-out session after they left; and then had our
sofa sleepover. No added details are
required for you, dear reader of the future!
:^)
Tai Chi by the river was good; my morning
was a near-repeat of yesterday while Michael was busy at his house; and then we
got together with a gang of kids, tweens, and teens and headed out to Quarry
Lake for a play afternoon. Jake and
Stephanie were among the adult volunteers, and while that might not be
anniversary-exciting for most young couples; they had fun getting a few hours
of play time with their cousins and some friends. Michael and I spent the entire time we were
at the campground helping out with kid control; and had fun with the twins, our
collective cousins, and their friends through until we needed to be back in
town in time to help his parents out with the dinner party they were hosting
for Jake and Stephanie.
That next four hours or so was a blast of
work, fun, and non-stop action. Jacob
and Miranda had quite a gang for dinner, since they’d invited both families and
quite a few of Jake and Stephanie’s friends.
Michael and I worked before dinner; helped with the kids during the
meal; and led the clean-up effort after that; so we were very busy – and still
had a lot of fun. The party didn’t go
too long, but then Jake and Stephanie went out with their friends after the
social time in the evening – and could do that because they didn’t have to work
the breakfast shift.
Michael and I are doing that, though; which
is why I came home early; took time for a soak in my Jacuzzi; and am now going
to bed and off to sleep early. I really
have enjoyed our play day even with all of the work, but we’ll be back into the
‘real’ work again tomorrow; and I expect to be very busy every day again
through Sunday night. We miss the long,
lazy play days of just a couple of years ago, but there is a lot of good that
comes with being a teen too; so I’ll try not to complain too much about all of
the work – even here in my journal where I can write whatever I want and nobody
will see it for years to come!
I really do just want to sleep now, though,
and that does at least cover the highlights; so, until next time...
...May the Magi Force be with you!
