Ethan:
This has been a good day to stay away from
televisions if tuned into news channels, but I am not going to offer another
round of political cynicism tonight; and enjoy the week or two we’ll get to
have off before the politicians get started on the next election cycle just in
time for twenty-twenty!
While the election results are a snooze for
most kids and teens around here, our family news of the day once again came
from Cassie; and May will be coming home with her for their study week and
Thanksgiving. They’ll be here in just a
week and a half, so that’s something to look forward to; and we’re really glad
that Cassie will be here for a week – even though we’ll be at school for three
of those days. They will have studying
to do, though; so let’s hope they can get a lot of their work done while we’re
at school.
That’ll also give May’s alien implant time
to get used to its new host; so that’s a bonus too! ;^)
I couldn’t resist, since that’s one of the
stories going on among Cassie’s new college friends to explain why she’s so
different from the rest of them – along with Michael, Rowen, and Tim; and I’m
sure we’ll have fun helping May out with those stories while she’s here. The funniest part of doing that for Ehlana
and me will be the fact that our true story would be even more-unbelievable for
Cassie’s college friends than the jokes about aliens and alternate universes.
That’s wandered off away from the news of
the day, but then I don’t really have any other news anyway. This was an even quieter day around here; we
were busy with school, lab time, and a work and study evening; and now we have
even more incentive to work harder ahead of Cassie’s week at home with us and
all of the Thanksgiving fun we already have booked with our family and
friends. Dad has to get ready for his
week in the city too; so I foresee a work weekend in our near future – two of
them; including the usual work we’ll have ahead of the holiday weekend.
I’m getting tired just writing about that,
so I guess that’s it; and I’m ready to crash and nap for the rest of the
night. Stay tuned, and maybe we’ll even
have some fun and excitement to go along with all of that work between now and
when Cassie, Michael, and May get home.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’d have enough excitement if we could get
the cold cure worked out by Thanksgiving, but that didn’t happen today, and
since Ethan has already covered the news of the day; I’ll just call it a night
and hope that the sleep and dream time will help me come up with the brilliant
ideas that will get us the next step closer to that cure.
At least my fairy tale for that is going to
have a happy ending – unlike all of those election promises that have already
been forgotten by our newly-elected Senators and Congresspersons.
Maybe I’ll work on a cure for Washington
D.C. once I’ve cured the common cold, but that might be too much to hope for;
so I should likely just stick with the kind of research that we can succeed at –
like curing cancer or coming up with better ways to feed the world.
I’ll leave it up to someone else to find a
cure for politicians; and promise that I’ll save up the rest of my jokes about
that sort of thing for the next election. ;^)
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
