Ethan:
Maybe this is just a quiet week so far
compared to what’s coming next week, but I really don’t have any news for
today; and this has been a near-repeat of Monday for school, archives play
time, and a quiet evening at home ahead of another comparatively-early bedtime.
I’ll take the extra nap time when I can get
it!

Ehlana:
Ethan’s right, but I don’t want to have
another no-news update in a row; so let’s cover some non-news before I’ll get
to that early sleep time too.
Naomi and I dressed up a bit today for
school because she felt like it and wanted best friend support. Our favorite boys noticed – and pretended not
to do that around the other guys. We had
a test today, but Ethan and I don’t write about that sort of thing very often
because it isn’t news when we’re talking about a test on information we learned
before we could walk. We sometimes
wonder what it might be like in the future for Magi kids if we get to a point
after the Ascension of the Light when we don’t have to hide our special
talents, but when we do get to that point; I also hope that those future kids
won’t miss out on all of the good things that go along with being at school
with all of the kids our own ages. For
instance, I’m pretty sure that Ethan and Aiden would have trouble making the
football team this year if we were in high school already – or college! ;^)
Speaking of college kids our age, I can
report that we have no news about Gwyneth since she went back to
Princeton. That’s good news – though we
won’t be able to let our guard down again; and have no doubt that we will hear
from her again sooner and later; since she’s sure to be an important part of
the Ascension of the Light – on the other side of the battle. This is an ages-old contest, and history does
rhyme, but in this case; there is one unusual difference that we haven’t found
a match for in the archives – the family connection between Cassie and Gwyneth
for Magi Masters on opposite sides of Light and Dark. We can’t say for certain that they’re
completely unique, since even our archives don’t include all of human or Magi
history, but if there has been this kind of division of Magi families in the
past; there are no records of it that Ethan has found so far – and he has
looked. We don’t know whether that’ll be
significant for this current ascension, but it might be; and that’s
reason-enough to pay attention to that little detail.
Okay, that’s enough for a no-news update,
and I’m ready to get some sleep now; so I’m going to cuddle with Silkie now and
do that starting right now.
