Ethan:
We’ve put a spell on May – and now she’s
ours!
That might be a bit over-stated, but she is
well on the way to falling in love with our little town; so I expect that she’ll
become a regular visitor and guest – at least while she’s at college with
Cassie.
The news for this update begins with our
play time yesterday after school, though, so let’s back up to then; and I’ll
get around to explaining the opening reference to the Hocus Pocus song.
Ehlana, Naomi, Aiden, and I went out to
bike and play at the park until shortly-before dinnertime. About half of our usual gang joined us for
that fun, and while some of the trails were too-messy to ride after the recent
snow and rain; we stuck to the trails we like best; and then we played at the
playground until we started to get cold and were ready to head for our
homes. Mom put us to work on the dinner
set-up; we kept the younger cousins entertained until and through dinner; and
then had some more play time before getting to the first movie of the night
while waiting for Dad, Cassie, Michael, and May to get home. Dad got home during that show; and then
Cassie, Michael, and May rolled in by nine-thirty. There were breaks for both arrivals; the
girls had extra fun with Cassie and May; and then there was one last movie that
was mostly for the kids while the parents and teens enjoyed the chat time. Michael’s parents joined in for that visit
once they could get away from the Inn; and then Aiden and I eventually went to
bed while Ehlana and Naomi had a long bedtime girl chat with Cassie and May
before eventually getting a bit of sleep too.
Tai Chi this morning was indoors and a bit
crowded with the extra exercise buddies, but that was fun too; and May was very
impressed with us. The guys cooked
breakfast; Mom distributed chores while we ate; and then we either helped with
the clean-up or took our turns to get ready for the day. Cassie and May were sent over to grandma and
grandpa’s house to get it ready for their return on Sunday. Ehlana and I didn’t get to have ‘better’
chores, but we did have more fun after Naomi and Aiden moved on to go home or
to the bakery; since Mom let us do some of our chores with Magi power
assistance without anyone else in the house.
There were some outdoor chores too, and we helped Dad with some of that
work too, but that started a bit later after it got slightly-warmer outside;
and didn’t take all that long this time – at least for our contributions to the
effort.
We were together for lunch, finished up our
chores; and eventually got to have a bit of play time with Cassie and May that
included a visit to the museum and the falls.
The Hocus Pocus song came up while talking about Witch Falls Magic; and
May is planning on having a lot of fun when they get back to college with magic
theories and jokes that will supposedly explain why Cassie and Michael are so
different from the rest of their friends.
Ehlana and I are happy to help her out with working on that material,
and since we’ll likely get to take her on a tour of the lab sometime while she’s
here; it’ll be easy to come up with bonus jokes for her to use – especially if
we can mix magic up with the other theories – like aliens or alternate universe
for our little town.
Mom and Dad opted for a quiet dinner and
evening because Dad wanted to get some work done so that he isn’t stuck doing
all of his homework on Sunday – especially when he’s already going to be
dealing with a short work week for the holiday.
That worked for all of us – especially when Cassie, Michael, and May
opted to hang out with Ehlana and me in the lounge instead of doing something
else. Mom split her time between the
office and lounge; and now at least some of us are heading for bed earlier than
expected – if not really all that early.
It’s taken me a little while to wind down, so I’ve done a bit of
archives reading, but I’m ready to nap now; that’s all I have for today; and I’ll
need to be ready for another busy day tomorrow that will include getting to see
grandma and grandpa for the first time in a month and a half. We’ll need to try and spend extra time with
them too while they’re home, since they’ll be heading south after Thanksgiving
until Christmas, but that might be easier said than done with everything else
we all have on the go – including three days of school for Ehlana and me. Stay tuned for more on that and everything
else, but I’m heading back to the real world now – and the sleeping part of my
day.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I don’t really have anything to add to
Ethan’s report. We – the girls – took
turns with some quality Jacuzzi time, but I’m not surprised that Ethan skipped
over that part of the evening entertainment.
Mandy and I are waiting for Cassie to finish saying goodnight to
Michael, but that might take a while; since they’re doing that downstairs and
likely in a non-verbal sort of way. It’s
time to wrap this up either way, though, since there really isn’t more to write
about now; and I can always have a good morning chat with Cassie if I don’t
stay awake for a bedtime chat now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
