***RESTRICTED ACCESS REPORT***
Ethan and Ehlana:
It’s my turn to write while Ehlana and I
talk about the rest of the news from the problems Cassie and her friends had
last night.
We’ll be keeping both of these special
updates restricted for years because of the teens involved and the subject
matter. Yes, I know we’re just kids too,
but this is something that Magi Master kids can discuss and write about as any
adult can – even while we have strong emotions affecting us too.
Let’s begin with what happened.
Cassie, Rowen, and three of their new
girlfriends – May, Madelana, and Serena – were the victims of an attempted
sexual assault on all of them by a group of five guys. Only three of those guys were in on the plan
to use a date-rape drug, Rohypnol, on Cassie and her friends by spiking their
drinks, but one of those other two guys was likely responsible for Cassie and
Rowen being targeted as being small-town, easy marks. Cassie and May did not have any of the drinks
that had been offered to them, but Rowen drank about half of her glass,
Madelana finished her drink, and Serena had two – including Cassie’s drink; and
was worst-affected because she’d had alcoholic drinks first. Cassie found out what was going on before it
was too-late, though since she hadn’t been drugged too; we know that the boys’
plan wouldn’t have worked anyway even if they had ended up in the suite of
rooms that would have been where the attacks – rapes – would have happened had
the boys gotten what they wanted.
I don’t like using that ugly word, but
using politically-correct names just glosses over the ugliness of the act – and
Ehlana and I believe that everyone should find that kind of violence abhorrent
and disgusting.
We don’t want to turn this into a diatribe,
though; so let’s try and stick with the facts.
The three boys spiked non-alcoholic drinks with the drug; one of them
went on a tour of the residential hall – and apparently attempted to make sure
that each of the girls consumed their drinks while Cassie’s ‘friend’ that hadn’t
been in the know about the drugging attempts led the tour and the other three
guys waited in Philippe’s dorm room suite.
In that residential hall, the suites include a common room and, in this
case, four private bedrooms; which apparently made it a perfect place for that
kind of private ‘party’ for the boys.
Before they got to the room, the Rohypnol
began to affect Rowen; Cassie noticed; and then discovered what was happening
to her best friend. That first use of
magic that we sensed from her last night was her use of wards so that she could
cleanse the drug from Rowen’s system – and the tiny bit of it that she’d taken
on from just a sip of Rowen’s drink that had allowed her to find out exactly
what was happening to Rowen. She then
went on to end the tour, but didn’t get away from the five guys before having a
confrontation with them that included Cassie and May needing to physically
defend themselves and their friends.
That’s led to the newborn legend of the Ninja Girls, and I’m sure we’ll
have fun with that eventually; but nothing about this is funny right now – even
if there is some humor being used to try and deal with the emotions.
While we don’t want to rant on this, Ehlana
and I do want to write about how we’re feeling – and there is a lot of anger
for us to deal with – and that isn’t a good think for junior Magi Masters –
even when we’re of the Light. Everything
that’s happening to us on that emotional level – and to everyone else that has
been directly or indirectly affected by this are real consequences of the
actions of those five boys – and we are talking about attempted attacks here;
not successful ones. We don’t actually
need to guess at how much worse this would be had Cassie and her friends been
physically-harmed beyond the effects of the drug on three of them; but this is
bad-enough. There is a serious problem
in this world when teenagers can’t be safe even at a place that is supposed to
have the best and brightest of us working and studying there.
Ehlana’s suggesting that this is another
example of why an Ascension of the Light is so needed right now.
That assertion brings up the point that
there are dangers out there that have nothing to do with the risks we face from
Dark Magi like the Hathornes. Cassie and
Rowen certainly have had a wake-up call with this; and they’ll need to be much-more
careful from now on. It’s an ugly
reality-check; and one that shouldn’t be necessary. The majority of people might think that’s
small-town and naive, but it isn’t; and we’d all be a lot happier if everyone
would start to care about each other as much as we do here in our little town.
Moving along with the story, Cassie, Rowen,
and May had Michael and Tim help them with getting Serena and Madelana away
from that party and residential hall; they went back to the townhouses; Cassie
healed Serena and Madelana as much as she could without making any
unexplainable miracles happen – though Serena might have ended up in a coma if
not for Cassie’s help; since the dose she ingested from two glasses in addition
to the alcohol she’d consumed earlier had caused a dangerous overdose. Cassie and Rowen kept all three friends
overnight; Serena and Madelana were sick this morning, but better; and then
they eventually went shopping as part of Cassie’s therapy plan for her friends
before Madelana, May, and Serena went back to their respective residential
halls.
We had our vid-chat with Cassie, Michael,
Rowen, and Tim this afternoon – just a little while ago, and while they’re
okay; this drama isn’t over because they – and their friends – have decided to
make sure that those boys don’t get away with this – and, hopefully, won’t be
able to try to hurt any other girls either.
We’ll keep you posted on how that goes – or maybe leave it to Cassie to
update in her journals; depending on what happens next. We’ll know more in the next couple of days,
but they hope to keep all of this from becoming a big, public mess; and those
guys had better figure that out and do the right thing before that happens.
Finally, Ehlana and I want to note that
even with the darker side of this drama; there is some good. Cassie and Rowen now have three new, true
friends – though not even Cassie is sure that’s trued with Serena yet. We’re sure, though; and we’re also sure that
this is good for Cassie – and for her new friends.
This is not even remotely what we expected
for trouble that might come looking for Cassie, but maybe this will be
necessary too – and maybe even part of the bigger plan if Cassie and her
friends can make sure that other girls at their college are safer than they
might have been if not for this; and not even Magi Masters can possibly know
that entire big plan.
Ehlana and I are going to get back to the
real world now; and we’ll add notes about this if needed.
***END OF RESTRICTED REPORT***
Ethan:
Compared to the news of the day from
Cassie; we’ve had a quiet day around here.
Admittedly, that was partly because of how we were feeling, so somber
might be more-accurate than quiet; but then we were ready for a quiet day
anyway. That didn’t mean that we did nothing,
since we went to church this morning, Ehlana and I spent some time with Naomi
and Aiden; and we did some studying in the office while Mom and Dad did some
work. We were home for dinner; watched
another movie tonight; and now I’m heading off to sleep because I’ve had enough
fun and drama for one weekend.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
What Ethan said; without any additional
comments because I’m ready to sleep now too.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
