Ethan:
Our movies, video games, and sleepover fun
with Naomi and Aiden was a lot of fun last night, and while I’ve already been
teased about the cuddle time with Naomi that went along with the girls’ choice
movies; those happy new memories are worth it!
The play time, easy-dinner, some fun with Mom and Dad, and the rest of
our evening entertainment was pretty good too; so that was a great way to wrap
up our first week of school.
Today has been a chores day with a lot of
catch-up work to do after the holiday weekend.
Tai Chi was by the river, but chilly thanks to the cool-down that came
with the rain yesterday. It didn’t
really warm up today either, but that actually helped a bit with the outdoor
work. Dad didn’t have extra help for the
yard work this week because most of the teens and tweens around town were
either busy with work or the same kind of chores around their houses that we
were busy with here. We stopped for a
couple of breaks and lunch, but worked until five and then went to get cleaned
up – with the we just being Mom, Dad, Ehlana, and me. Naomi and Aiden were only with us until
shortly after breakfast; and then they were with their families for the rest of
the day.
We had pizzeria pizza for dinner; Ehlana
and I watched a movie with Mom and Dad in the lounge after that; and now we’re
heading for bed while Mom and Dad go to do some work in the office. I’m okay with the extra sleep, since we
stayed up later than we should have last night, so that’s it for my news of the
day; and I’m ready to get to the napping part of my night.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
What Ethan said; with a couple of
additions. Naomi and I did get to pick
the movies, but that wasn’t too-awful for the boys, since we picked the new
Disney Channel musical version of Freaky Friday for the first show; and
followed that up with another new-favorite Disney musical – Zombies. They like music, and there were ‘monsters’ in
one of the movies; so that seemed a fair compromise. I’ll also add that the chores might have been
easier with the cooler weather today, but most of them were not fun. Yes, it’s more-fun to do that work with my
twin and our parents, but when the fun-level is starting from a very low place;
that really doesn’t help all that much – it’s more of a misery-loves-company
thing.
Okay, the work wasn’t that bad – I’m just
saying that we don’t have to act as though everything is always fun and games
around here. Sometimes, even the chores
really do deserve that name.
I didn’t want to go on any rants tonight,
since we really did need to get started on the post-holiday chores; so I’ll
wrap this up and head off to sleep now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
