Okay, I’m officially wiped out; so this is
going to be a micro-report.
I spent the morning with my family; we had
some play time and a bit of shopping to go along with the packing up for the
trips home that our weekend guests needed to deal with before heading to the
Inn for the noon buffet. My shift at the
Inn started at eleven; I worked through that first buffet while my family was
having that last blast of fun; and then Michael and I took a break to see them
off – and to grab something to eat before getting back to the clean-up from the
first buffet and prep work for the second sitting at three o’clock. Mom, Dad, and the twins had company at the
house for the football bowl games after that, but it wasn’t an official party;
and they didn’t have a big group – though they did have drop-in visitors that
mostly stopped by to wish them a Happy New Year and visit for a while before
moving on to other entertainments.
While it would have been nice to do that
instead, Miranda needed all of the help she could get; and Michael and I only
took the minimum breaks while helping to keep up with the buffets. We did at least have extra time between
sittings with them spread out at three-hour intervals, but that also made for a
very long day; and it was going on eleven o’clock by the time I got home
again. Michael and I did our goodnight
hugs and kisses on his front porch before I moved on to my house; mostly
because we’re both exhausted.
That’s also why I’ve only done the basic
bedtime computing; used a time phase for all of it; and multi-tasked the soak
in my Jacuzzi that I really needed after all of the hot kitchen work today. Getting off to sleep before midnight is still
an option if I hurry, and while that is really just an arbitrary number when it
comes to how much sleep I’ll actually get anyway, I don’t have anything else to
write about that’s more important right now that my need for down time; so,
until next time...
...May the Magi Force be with you!
