Happy 4th Birthday, Brianna!
Ethan:
This might be shocking, but even the ‘cool’
guys our age have a tough time making fun of going to the birthday party for a
four-year-old cousin when that party is at Quarry Lake!
Before I get to the news of the day; let’s
back up to last night and the rest of the story for Sunday.
While the girls were busy taking turns in
the Jacuzzi, we – the guys – did some gaming; we started the movie while the
last two baths were still going on; and Naomi didn’t let having the extra ‘couple’
with us stop her from having the cuddle time with me – even though Ehlana and
Aiden didn’t even hold hands while Jayden and Sophia were with us. The movie time was fun; we split up when it
was time to get some sleep; and that’s pretty much all I have for last night.
We had fun with Tai Chi and breakfast this
morning. Dad had to get to work, but Mom
drafted us to help with getting everything together for the trip to Quarry Lake
along with some chores; our entire group for Brianna’s party got together
before getting rides out to the campground; and then it was time to play for
the rest of the day! There’s no point in
covering all of the usual activities – it was the sun and fun with our family
and friends that matters; and we’ve had an awesome day! The picnic lunch was a bit scary – for many
of the girls; while Zack, Eli, and some of the other guys had a blast and a bit
too-much fun with the food games. We
stayed and played until late afternoon; went home in time for Brianna’s
birthday barbeque dinner.
Aiden and I had our ball practice to get to
too, so we were fed early and biked to the school ball diamond for that; and
had to wait until later for the cake and ice cream that was saved for us. That’s why I’ll leave the dinner report to
Ehlana; and move on to the camping news.
Our ball practice went well-enough – especially after finally getting a
win on the weekend. Aiden and I had our
dessert after that; and then we set up tents in our back yard with some teen
help because the ‘guy’ cousins aren’t invited to Brianna’s camping night for
her birthday. That didn’t take long, but
we are going to the campfire at the Carrington’s; so I’m doing this update now
while getting cleaned up and ready for the rest of the night.
I’ll have to do the rest of the report for
today with the next update; since I expect to be busy tonight trying to keep
Zack, Eli, and some of the other guys from having too much fun with our camping
– particularly when it comes to sneaking over to the girls’ camp and trying to
annoy them. That’s all for tonight, and
I really do need to get moving and on to the campfire; so stay tuned – there’s
sure to be a lot more to come!
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’ll go with Ethan’s little bit of news
from last night; and only add that he might have skipped over the good night
kiss from Naomi because he was too-dazed to remember to write about it – a day
later. ;^)
As for the news from today; I’ll go with
the teen and tween drama stories. Jeremy
and Kaitlyn spent the day together at Quarry Lake; and Micah just happened to
be out there too with a bunch of his friends; so he spent a lot of time with
Jaimie. Kara got paired up with Ryan
Bassett, but while they seemed to have fun hanging out together, Ryan is very
self-conscious about his temporary height deficiency compared to the girls his
age; he’s about three inches shorter than Kara; and that’ll keep him from
having any teen romance this summer.
While that was going on in the background, Naomi and I spent a fair bit
of time today with Brianna and her friends and our younger cousins; we had a
lot of fun; and I’m not going to comment yet again on the scary parts of the
day that Ethan mentioned.
While Ethan was busy with baseball, Brianna’s
birthday dinner was an adventure; I’ll also need to skip the scary food fun
from the guys for that meal too; and we still had fun with Brianna – especially
when it came to all of the usual birthday entertainment that included gifts,
special desserts, and the rest. Naomi
and I helped with the post-dinner kid control – and dunking the younger cousins
in the river to clean them up from the food messes; we set up our tents with
help from the Dads and teens; and then we had time to play until the campfire.
I’ll do that update tomorrow too, since I’m
only home with Ethan for a few minutes – mostly to pick up some things that we
want for the campfire and I want in my tent.
Naomi and I are going to be busy for the rest of the night; so I’m
leaving my computer here; and don’t expect to have time to use it later anyway.
This has been another awesome day; the fun
is sure to continue until late; and I’m really glad that we’re getting to spend
the week with our cousins – even when that means being away from the lab for a
week and a half! I don’t want to start
thinking about that; and need to wrap this up – so I will.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
