Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - July 21, 2019

Ethan:

I’m going to be a total guy for this update.  We had a good morning at home and then during church and Sunday school.  A lot of the rest of our day was all about getting ready for the wedding next weekend – though Dad had work to do in the office too after his week in the city.  The girls involved had more fun than I did with all of that work; I’ll pick dinner at the Inn as the highlight for me; and now I just want to get some sleep – so I will.

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

That wasn’t being a total guy, Ethan.  If Miles had been helping us today; he’d have been complaining the entire time – or finding ways to escape and have fun doing anything else.

I definitely had more fun than Ethan today; and I’m not just saying that because he got more of the less-fun chores.  The wedding work isn’t finished, since we have things on the go every day from here to next Saturday, but we are keeping up with everything; so we shouldn’t end up with any last-minute rushes or problems.  The work details really don’t matter, since as always for us; it’s the time with our family and friends that is most-important to us.  It would be nice if Cassie could share in these adventures, but what she is doing instead is really important too; and having her home again in four more years instead of a year or two longer is worth these costs.

She’ll be here when it matters-most next Saturday; and I wouldn’t be surprised if I surveyed a hundred brides about this and have them decide that they’d prefer to have all of the work done for them – at least when it comes to the stresses that go along with most weddings.

We had a vid-chat with Cassie tonight and she’s ready for her exams.  We’ll keep in touch with her all week, but will also try to stay out of her way so that she can focus on those final tests – though that’s as much because she’ll continue to help her friends.  She’s happy to do that, but let’s be honest; and admit that she could work a lot less without all of the tutoring.

I guess that’s all for tonight.  It’s been a good day even with all of the work; and I am so glad that Ethan and I are being included for more of the work and plans for this final week.  We will likely need to get the rest when we can to be ready for all of the work and fun.  I’m going to get to that nap time now; so stay tuned for the next updates; since this is going to be an awesome week!
