Congratulations, Rowen and Tim!
The Best Man and Maid of Honor for Cassie
and Michael’s wedding got engaged tonight; so that’s actually become the top
news story of our day – even though that only happened shortly-before
midnight. We don’t have many details
yet; so stay tuned for an update on that story later this weekend.
Ethan:
It’s late, but we’ve had a busy day; so I’ll
try to stay awake and cover the highlights.
The top wedding job of the morning was
getting the church decorated for the ceremony tomorrow. Ehlana and I helped with that work; and then
we were home to do more chores before going to lunch at the Inn and a last
meeting to go over the wedding plans status and the schedule for the rest of
the weekend. Ehlana and I helped with
kid control this afternoon, but helped out here and there as our weekend guests
began to arrive. There were designated
drivers working all afternoon doing trips to the airport and back; most of our
families and visiting friends began arriving by early-afternoon. Whether those guests were staying in family
homes or at the Inn, there was another gang of volunteers helping out with
getting luggage moved to rooms and then providing entertainment as needed too.
Our house was party-central, so all guests
eventually came over; and the back yard was where most of the kids played while
the adults socialized in and around the house.
Cassie got home by mid-afternoon, and we welcomed her home, but I didn’t
get to spend much time with her because she was swept away to try on her
wedding dress and then on from there to other wedding-related activities and a
lot of socializing. We had most of the
guests here in time for the light dinner that we hosted ahead of the rehearsal
at the church; and then everyone in the wedding party and the parents were
there for that blast of fun. Ehlana had
more to do with that than I did, since it didn’t take long to get our lesson on
the groomsmen responsibilities for ushering the guests to their seats
tomorrow. The rest of the rehearsal was
fun; and I’ll include the highlight ending – the ‘kiss-the-bride’ moment. We know that Cassie was just having fun with
the moment and won’t really wrap her arms and legs around Michael tomorrow –
especially when wearing her dress; but that didn’t keep everyone from teasing
her about it anyway.
The rehearsal party started after we got
home; the food was great; and then there were tears and laughs while Cassie and
Michael thanked everyone helping out with the wedding when that smaller group
was gathered in the dining room while the party rolled on without us in the
back yard. There were gifts and bonus
entertainment; but then we ran out of time and Rowen and Tim took Cassie and
Michael; put them in the office on their own; and let them have nearly a
half-hour to say goodnight to each other before they were split up at
midnight. That’s when Tim proposed to
Rowen, but I don’t know much more than that; since Ethan and I were soon sent
over to Michael’s house for the rest of the night. I’m here as part of the wedding party; and
Aiden’s here with me so that I’m not the only kid in the group.
The guy chat before bedtime wasn’t anything
like I expect the girls are having back at home, but that shouldn’t surprise
anyone. Aiden is already sleeping, and I
should join him soon; since we’ll be at the Inn early for breakfast – and then
we’ll also need to stay out of the way of the girls while keeping the bride and
groom apart and also getting our work done too.
Sure, all of that work is meant to keep the groom busy and distracted,
but we’ll have fun; and that will help to keep us entertained until it’s time
to get dressed up and to the church.
I guess that’s all for me tonight; so I’ll
wrap it up; and get to that napping part of my night.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Naomi and I have a ballgame in the morning –
in a handful of hours; so I think that I’m going to save up my news of the day
for a future update when I’m not exhausted.
That might not happen until Sunday night, since we do have a very
important, long day ahead of us tomorrow, but we’ll see how that goes; since I
might be too-fired-up to sleep right away tomorrow night.
We really do only have a few hours to sleep
right now, though; so I’m going to get to that now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
