Christmas Video of the Day!
We love Cassie’s Christmas songs in her
archives; so here’s the first of our picks for this year!
Ethan:
It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas
around here today, but before I get to the chores and decorating news; let’s
cover the rest of the movies and sleepover part of our Friday night.
I cuddled with Naomi; Ehlana semi-cuddled
with Aiden; and Mom and Dad cuddled together for part of the first movie that
they watched with us before deciding to head for bed. I did fall asleep while cuddled with Naomi,
but that wasn’t until we were part-way into the second show; so that also
explains why we ended up staying cuddled together until Mom checked in on us at
a bit after midnight. While she took
pictures, she also didn’t leave us there for the rest of the night. Naomi was moved into Ehlana’s bed; and Aiden
and I were left on the sectional sofa in the lounge. I woke up while that was going on, but not
for long; and then I was out for the rest of the night.
The girls had fun with the cuddle and nap
time stories today, but after Tai Chi and breakfast, Naomi and Aiden moved on
to go home or to the bakery while Ehlana and I were put to work. Our chores included fun jobs like rounding up
the Christmas decorations and helping out with some of that work; and we’ll
finish the decorating job tomorrow when we go to get our tree and then set it
up tomorrow evening after dinner. This
was a good day for doing outdoor decorating along with a few remaining chores
ahead of the approaching depths of winter; and Dad let Ehlana and me take care
of some of those jobs too. We don’t do a
huge Christmas display, but we do have lights, decorations, and a few lawn
ornaments; so our house is looking rather festive now!
Ehlana and I got to have some play time
with Naomi and Aiden this afternoon, but we’re at our own homes tonight; and it
was a quiet day for lunch and dinner meals at our house today too. Mom and Dad wanted to work in the office
tonight because we’ll be buy most of the day tomorrow, so Ehlana and I did some
studying after dinner; and then wrapped up our day with a Christmas movie in
the lounge. We’re in our beds now after
taking Silkie for a bedtime walk; and I’m ready to get some sleep so that I’ll
be ready for our Christmas adventures tomorrow.
This hasn’t been a particularly-exciting
day, but we have had fun even with all of the work; and it feels good to help
out when we can. That might seem weird
to some kids our age, but it really is just the way we do things around here –
even when we’re young. I guess that’s
it; so I’m off to dreamland now.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Naomi’s favorite part of the day on Friday
was definitely the cuddle and nap time with Ethan, but he’s covered the main
news of the day; so I’ll just add a couple of comments and then head for
dreamland too.
Our chores today were fun more-often than
not; and I’m sure we had a better day with our work than Cassie did with her
exam studies with her friends. They’re
having more fun tonight with a play evening at the rec center, but I’m okay
with a quiet night at home; and Ethan and I wouldn’t be allowed to play court
games with a bunch of college teens anyway – even if we could do that and keep
up. Yes, Mom wouldn’t allow us to do
that anyway, but it would be fun if we could; and Magi-powered racquetball or
squash would be amazing! The afternoon
biking and play time at the park with our friends was great too; and a bit
amazing that we’re still doing that on the first day of December. The weather’s been a bit unpredictable from
day-to-day, but we are into early winter now; so every above-average day is
something to enjoy before we get into the long, inevitable stretches of winter
cold.
I should likely write about that sometime,
since there have been issues with extreme winter weather around the country,
but we’ve dodged most of that here – and no; that isn’t because Mom’s been
teaching Ethan and me how to modify the local weather! ;^)
That would be awesome if we could, but we
do know how difficult that would be even for a small area; and the consequences
of trying it could be much worse elsewhere.
I think that we’ll stick with leaving weather up to Mother Nature; and
deal with what we get each day.
That got a bit off-track, since my point
was going to be that the extreme weather hasn’t really been a problem for us
the way it has elsewhere, and while that means that most kids around here don’t
worry about it at all; Ethan and I do pay attention to that news – just as we
do for everything else that goes on around the world. We don’t write about any of that news very
often in our archives, since those events don’t directly impact our lives here,
but it is important to stay informed; and we will help out when we can in the
future – just as Mom, Cassie, and everyone else involved in the family business
help out wherever we can through our businesses and charities.
Okay, that’s enough for tonight. I’m ready to rest up for our second-half of
the weekend too now; so I’m out of here and back to the real world again.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
