Christmas Video of the Day!
We’ve added the new Elf Pets Christmas show
to our list of favorites; so here’s one of the songs from the latest addition
to the Elf on the Shelf videos.
Ethan:
Happy 18th Birthday, Rebecca!
We’ve had an awesome family and friends day,
but I’m tired and ready to get some sleep; so I’ll leave this update to Ehlana
while I put my toys away and get started on my nap.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Happy 18th Birthday, Rebecca –
and have a nice sleep, Ethan. I’m good
with taking the lead for this Christmassy report!
Our day started with Tai Chi by the river,
and while that was chilly thanks to the dropping temperature overnight; we
still chose to be outdoors and then moved on to have a hot breakfast to warm up
again. Today is Advent Sunday, so we
were ready for church early; passed along birthday gifts to Rebecca along the
way to church; and then Pastor John led us into the Christmas season that
included holiday fun during our Sunday school class too.
I love our involvement with our church, so
it’s probably wrong of me to want to focus more on the entertainment parts of
our day, but I am a kid; so try not to blame me too-much for being more-excited
about our trip to the Christmas tree farm and the tree decorating we did at
home after dinner.
We missed Cassie today, but we still had a
big gang of family and friends with us, and while nothing is organized beyond
that in town; there were a lot of other neighbors and friends at the tree farm
today getting their trees and enjoying the holiday adventure. Naomi and Aiden were with us, so that helped
a lot with the fun; and our group needed to be on two wagons to have enough
room for everyone for the hayride. The
tree selections took a while, but as always; our guides kept us on-time; and we
picked up all of the trees for our homes along with a few extras that Dad and
some of the other guys helped to deliver once we were back in town.
The Christmas store part of the fun was
great too; we had hot chocolate and cookies treats; picked up some new
ornaments and extra baked goods; and then we headed home in time for the work
that needed to be done with the trees ahead of dinner at the Inn. We’re going to a few too-many buffets right
now, but Ethan and I can handle that; and I am not going to mention one of the
jokes I overheard from one of the Moms suggesting an alternative exercise
program to deal with the extra holiday food.
We went to the early buffet, but did that
late; and that wasn’t a problem when the Inn was comparatively-quiet after the
Thanksgiving weekend. That last blast of
fun with our family and friends was followed by the Christmas tree decorating
with just the four of us; Dad had some work to do in the office after that; and
Ethan and I were sent to have baths ahead of bedtime. Mom didn’t skip our Magi lesson – we just
worked that into the decorating fun.
Ethan is more-tired than I am now, but only because he did more running
around with Zack and the other guys to try and help the Dads with our younger
cousins. Zack was definitely on a roll
today with so many guys around to impress with his feats of comedy or
entertainment that included pranks, demolishing too many snacks, and other
goofiness.
The house is decorated now, but the holiday
fun is really just getting started now; so Ethan and I are looking forward to
having an amazing holiday – especially once Cassie, Michael, and May get home
again for their Christmas break a week from Friday.
Okay, that’s enough for tonight. I have a bit of research that I want to do
ahead of my work at the lab this week, so I’ll get to that; and then,
eventually, catch up with Ethan when I’m ready to nap too.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
