Ethan:
We have a house full of family tonight, but
the holiday weekend fun has been a bit muted because all of our visitors are
tired out after a long day and trip from Woodvale. There was some chat time after the vehicles
were unloaded until the parents and grandparents wanted to go up to bed, and a
movie in the lounge that Chris and Sadie were too-tired to stay up past
midnight to watch with us, and since Michael went home then; I got razzed a bit
for being the only guy still in the lounge after that – though the cuddle time
with Cassie was nice while we watched the tail-end of that show. The girls are wrapping up their night with a
bit of chat time in the lounge, but I don’t expect that they’ll stay up much
longer either.
As for the rest of my news since the last
update, we had a fun play night and sleepover last night; Ehlana and I played
at the lab and archives today while Cassie and May helped Mom and kept busy
with other entertainment; and then we pretty much waited around for the Rice
clan to get here. They had one of those
rotten trips with lots of traffic and accident issues along the way that were
mostly weather-related thanks to the plunging temperature and the ice and snow
issues that came along with the cold – even though it’s silly for that to be a
problem at the start of every winter. I
realize that it’ll be a while before I’ll get to drive cars, but this bit of
rain and snow just wasn’t enough that it should have caused so much trouble on
the roads today.
Okay, maybe that isn’t totally fair, since
we could just make sure that no accidents happened around us if we were out
there driving in bad weather, but you know what I mean; and the drivers in our
family were talking about that problem as part of their travel stories. It is true that too many drivers forget how
to handle winter conditions by the start of every winter; and that most of those
accidents are preventable.
I did not want to turn this report into a
commentary on winter driving or anything else, so I’m going to wrap this up;
and get the sleep that I obviously need. ;^)
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I had fun last night with the family and
friends play time; the lab time was great; and I’m happy to have our family
home for the long weekend that will include the bonus family Christmas and all
of the New Year’s Eve and Day entertainment.
Our evening has been quieter than we expected thanks to the late arrivals,
but the movie and cuddle time was good; and so was the girl chat. Cassie, May, and Dawn had to keep that girl
time kid-rated for me, but they’ll have time for teen talk this weekend too;
and I’ll find something else to do when they’re busy with that sort of thing.
Ethan already covered the bad weather
driving commentary that I was thinking about writing too, and it is getting
late; so I should just wrap this up and get all of the sleep I can to be ready
for our first day of holiday weekend adventures. Stay tuned – there will be a lot to write
about over the next four or five days!
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
