Ethan:
Happy 3rd Birthday, Brianna!
We were awake too-late last night; it’s
been a very long, busy day; and while we’ve had a blast helping Brianna
celebrate her big day; I’m ready to nap – and leave the details of our day to
Ehlana and other Magi to write about in their journals!
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Happy Birthday, Brianna!
Turning three might not be a big deal for
most kids, but trust me; it can be for Magi kids. Another year older means another step in what
we’re allowed to do in public; and that really does make life a bit easier for
us when we don’t have to constantly use baby talk or toddle around like we’re
clumsy and clueless!
Our day started out quietly-enough with Tai
Chi by the river; and then got busy as we had to have breakfast, clean up, and
get ready for church – not an easy job with Zack in the house! We had some early birthday fun with Brianna
before we left for church; a fairly-normal service; and then it was time to
load up and head for Quarry Lake for the afternoon!
I love going to play at Quarry Lake, but
the ‘what’ we do there isn’t as important as ‘who’ we’re playing with. Today was great for that, since we got to
have most of our home-town family and some of our best friends with us. The swimming and everything else we did –
including the picnic lunch, was fun and entertaining; and then we seemed to run
out of play time too-soon and it was time to pack up and head home again. Brianna’s birthday fun wasn’t done yet, since
we met up at the Inn for the late buffet – and did that so that some of our
favorite store owners could join us for that meal and the last blast of food,
family, and friends’ entertainment.
Other than seeing Brianna before church,
that was the only time Cassie got to spend with us today because she worked at
the Inn all day – and is still there closing the Inn now; and even that time
with us was short as she continued to work her tables in the main dining
room. The buffet was as awesome as
always; the giant birthday cake was shared with what was likely a quarter of
the diners; and Brianna’s birthday song was performed by a ‘choir’ of hundreds
as nearly everyone in the dining room joined in because Miranda asked them to
help out – and she pretty much always gets what she wants because we all love
her a lot.
I was ready to come home and call it a
night when we left the Inn; I borrowed Cassie’s Jacuzzi to get clean before
coming to bed; and we had a short bedtime visit because Ethan and I are both
ready to go to sleep. Other than
baseball practices and some lab time, we don’t actually have anything planned
for this work week, but I still need to catch up on my rest; so that’s all I
have for tonight.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
