Ethan:
The cousins are here for a week; we have
Jaimie, Kaitlyn, and Jayden here with us while the Johnson cousins are at Uncle
Adam and Aunt Leanne’s – though all of our cousins will be taking turns doing
sleepovers at other houses; and we’ll have a group camping night or three too.
Cassie, Ehlana, and I had a work day here;
we did all of the usual Saturday yard work; got the canoes and bikes ready for
the coming week; and had a mini car wash for Mom’s van and Cassie’s car that
also helped us out with cooling off.
While Cassie supervised and worked with us, Mom did the shopping and house
work; kept up with the rest of the pre-cooking she wanted to get done; and then
our reward for the hard work was a pizzeria pizza dinner and some play time
while we waited for our cousins to get here.
Uncle Adam, Zack, and Brianna joined us for that meal while Aunt Leanne
was picking up the Johnson cousins; they got home earlier than we’d expected;
so we got them settled into their home for the week and had time to hang out
before Dad got home with the Proctor cousins and we repeated the process for
them – and getting Dad’s truck unloaded too.
The social time and bedtime snacks and
drinks with everyone was at our house; Jayden and I have come up to our rooms
and will be doing some video gaming once we’re ready for bed; and the rest of
our cousins have either headed to other houses – or will be upstairs with
Cassie tonight. Jaimie and Kaitlyn are
with us for the night too; but they have rooms on the third floor with Cassie –
and Ehlana is hanging out with them tonight too. The fun is really going to get started in the
morning, but I have some gaming to get to in Jayden’s room now; so that’s all I
have for this report.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I’m just stopping into my room for a quick
change before heading up to Cassie’s room for a bedtime chat with Jaimie and
Kaitlyn.
It is so great to have our cousins here for
a week – or at least all of the younger cousins. Dawn’s too busy with her summer job and
flying; and the rest of the older cousins are either grown up now or collegians
with better things to do than come here and play with us for a week or two!
That’d be funny if they all did still do
that; but they’d all likely prefer to do that kind of family vacation somewhere
more-exotic. Maybe I can suggest that
for some year in the future. Christmas
in Hawaii, anyone? ;^)
I have that girl chat to get to; so let’s
move this along.
Ethan and I were drafted to work with
Cassie today. We did all of the usual
weekend yard work; cleaned and checked over the canoes; got the extra bikes
ready for our cousins to use while they’re here; and washed the van and car for
Mom and Cassie. that took pretty much
the entire day; Ethan and I played with Zack and Brianna after they came over;
we had a pizza dinner because Mom didn’t want to cook even more than she’s
already cooked this week; and then we played the waiting game for Aunt Leanne
and Dad to get home with our cousins after doing half-way meet-and-pickups with
the Moms or parents.
Let’s not talk about what those parents
will be doing with their kid-free week!
We’ve had fun with the reunion tonight,
though there was some work to do with unloading Aunt Leanne’s van and Dad’s
truck plus the snack and clean-up chores; and now it’s time to get to the
bedtime fun with Cassie, Jaimie, and Kaitlyn.
All of the work may not sound like much
fun, but we are going to get to play a lot over the next week; and I won’t be
doing much work at all – including no work at the lab. A week without that kind of fun will likely
have me going into withdrawal or something, but the bonus extreme fun will make
up for that; and I will survive!
We have had a long, hot day, though, and I’m
getting tired; so I’m going to get to that bedtime chat before I get so tired
that I just need to crash and nap for the rest of the night.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
