Our camping fun last night ended up being fairly-quiet
because half of our campers fell asleep soon after Michael and I took over camp
duties as camp counselors for the night.
We still had some play time with Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden; and
then got some sleep until Michael and I needed to be awake again and back to
work at the Inn.
I worked the breakfast shift; caught a bit
more than half of Ehlana’s first ballgame of the season – a win for Palmer’s
Pixies over Byrd’s Banshees; and then I did chores at home for most of the rest
of the day. I didn’t work the dinner
shift at the Inn, but Michael did; and I was busy at home until we stopped for
a late dinner. It got really hot today –
well-over one-hundred; but we only had a dash or three of rain; and that was
just a bit of welcome wet – even though it didn’t cool things down at all. We did go for a couple of swims that did help
with cooling down, but Dad really needed help with the work around the house
and yard – especially since we’ll be hosting the grad party this year – and that’s
only a week away.
I’ll have more on that next week, but I
have another camping night to get back to now; and I’ve just taken this break
to get changed and do a quick bedtime computer check before getting back
outside before Michael catches up with me once he’s done at the Inn. We only have Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden
with us for tonight; so we probably won’t stay up much longer after we’ve all
had a long, busy day. We might have had
our junior campers again tonight too, but Uncle Mark and Aunt Grace have Zack
and Brianna with them instead; so Caleb and Faith are happy tonight too.
I’m sure that’s true for Uncle Adam and
Aunt Leanne now that they’ve gotten another kid-free night in a row; but no
details are required! ;^)
Okay, that was a track that I shouldn’t
have sent my train of thought down, since some Michael and me play time isn’t
going to happen tonight either, but I’d better not go there either; and I’m not
just saying that because there will be impressionable kids in our tents all
night!
I should probably go cool off in the river
now. That’s all for tonight, and while I
have a busy work day booked for tomorrow; we do at least have a play week ahead
of us starting on Monday for the annual wind-down to our summer holidays. That break is going to be great – especially when
we’re going to have a very busy summer!
I’m rambling, and need to go; so, until next time...
...May the Magi Force be with you!
