Happy 5th Birthday, Amelia Spencer!
I’m beginning with that news because we were actually involved in Amelia’s special day – if only to help out with her home schooling while her party work was being done. Brianna was happy to have her best friend with us for the morning and early afternoon; and the younger cousins all had more-fun than usual. We all got to get in on the birthday-themed treats for snack time and lunch; and we also wrapped up our work early so that Brianna could move on to Amelia’s party while we were set free to play on what will be the warmest day of our work week.
A mid-forties temperature is hardly balmy weather, but for mid-January around here; that’s pretty good. Biking the trails wasn’t really a challenge on the main trail at the park, but some of our friends needed to try to ride the still-snowy trails in the woods at the park. That never ended well for them, but even Miles managed to survive with nothing worse than scrapes and bruises. Aiden and I got razzed for not going along most of the time, but we came home much-cleaner than Miles and Joshua; and our Moms appreciated that. We were all fairly-wet by the time we headed home thanks to snowball fights and other snow fun, but the warmer weather hasn’t left enough snow on the hills for sledding. Naomi and Aiden came home with us for the warm-up snack and drink, but then they went on to their own homes in time for dinner.
We’ve had a quiet work-study evening here while Cassie and Michael are away. Mom did an extended Magi lesson with us after taking weeks off from that; and we’re really getting back into our ‘real’ studies this week too. Ehlana and I wrapped up our day with bath or Jacuzzi time; we just finished our bedtime twin chat; and it still feels a bit weird to be doing our journal updates on our own again – though we did that for longer than we’d planned or expected anyway. That’s for the best; since it would just be weird to write our journal updates together once we get into our tween and teen years!
That’s pretty much all I have for tonight; so I’m out of here and off to nap-land.
