President Biden’s inauguration was the top news today – as well as the main lesson for most of the students in our school. All of the fears about major protests and worse have proved unfounded – at least so far today; but I won’t try to comment on why that has been the case – or whether those fears were based on anything real at all.
While learning about inauguration history and watching history being made with the first woman vice-president kept us busy for a lot of the school day, it was the decent weather that was more-important to the kids and teens around town. The temperature climbed into the low-fifties today; we were outdoors at school for our breaks; and I just got home from a couple of hours of biking on the trails and playing at the park. I’m doing this update now because dinner is going to be delayed while Mom is stuck at the bakery a bit later than usual; and that’ll delay my usual weeknight activities too. That won’t really include anything important to write about anyway; and that’s also why this is going to be a short report.
In fact, other than continuing to hope that we’ll have at least a semblance of peace as President Biden begins his term in office, I don’t really have anything else to add today; so I’ll wrap this up and move on to some chores that I can get done before dinner too. That sounds boring to me as much as it likely does to you, but part of my normal, everyday life; so I should likely at least mention the mundane now and then anyway – just to prove that my life isn’t non-stop adventure and excitement!
