New Year’s Eve was just a week ago, but there is definitely no party to write about tonight! We’ve had a good day with home schooling keeping us busy during the usual school hours and then some play time with our friends that was mostly indoors except for the walk to the park and back that was mostly for Silkie – with some added playground fun for Brianna and Faith. I’m a bit sad tonight because Cassie and Michael decided to extend their visit in St. Louis until Sunday. They had planned on leaving May’s birthday celebration on Saturday to Lee, but they were invited to stay and join in by Lee’s family; and it was easier to make that choice after finding out that Jake and Stephanie decided to take Sierra to meet the rest of the Stone family this weekend while the Inn is slower as usual during the first few weeks of January.
Ethan and I are apparently not adorable-enough anymore to get picked over a good party with Cassie’s friends! ;^)
Those plan changes have led to a quieter evening than we expected tonight – and we cancelled our sofa sleepover plans with Naomi and Aiden too. It would be more-accurate to mention that we delayed that plan to Sunday night so that the four of us can spend time with Cassie and Michael once they get home, but I probably shouldn’t let facts get in the way of another reason to feel sad tonight – my lack of time with my favorite cuddle buddy!
That’s hardly a problem compared to protests and riots – including in our capitol, the ongoing pandemic challenges, and the growing tensions around the world; so I won’t suggest that I have anything to complain about at all.
Ethan and I had a quiet dinner with Mom and Dad after our cousins and friends went home; we worked and studied in the office – including a Magi lesson; and then bath or Jacuzzi time was an option for three of us while Dad continued to work. The twin bedtime chat tonight was short; I have Mandy for my cuddle buddy tonight while Silkie is with Ethan; and I’m ready to wrap this up and get some sleep – so I will.
