Cassie's Journal - January 9, 2021

Happy 21st Birthday, May!

I’m getting my daily computing done this morning while Michael’s getting ready for the day; and we’re both going to leave our computer toys in the cases for the rest of the day.

We’ll be leaving soon to meet up with May and Lee for breakfast; we have play plans for the morning; and then a girls’ afternoon at the hotel spa ahead of May’s birthday dinner and party at Lee’s family’s restaurant.  They are not currently open for dining, but are keeping open thanks to a very good take-out and delivery business; so we can have our small party there – and Lee’s family can join in on the celebration while working too.  Before I move on from that thought; I also want to mention that Lee’s mother came up with a great idea that is doing very well for them too – a charity dinner option that allows customers to buy dinner either for someone they know in need of the help during the pandemic or donate randomly for meals they provide to clients of the nearest food bank.  Lee’s parents and their customers are now donating an average of more than one-hundred meals a day; and that’s also keeping everyone that works for them employed.

Moving along, we’ll have dinner at the restaurant; go back to Lee’s house for a last bit of chat time and maybe a movie night; and then Michael and I will say goodbye to May.  We’ll be getting up early tomorrow for the trip home; and May will stay and head back to school with Lee next Wednesday.  None of us want to think about school today while we’re enjoying a play day; so I’ll save the thoughts about the start of my Master’s degree studies for another day.

I still have some work to get done before we head out, and some of it can’t wait for me to deal with tomorrow; so I’m going to move on and get that done before we need to head out for the day.
