We had fun last night with our best friends – from dinnertime through to the co-ed sofa sleepover. The highlights included the Magi lesson with Mom, some music fun, and the movie-and-cuddle time. We stayed up too-late, but got up in time to see Dad off on his trip to Crystal Springs. A nap after that was an option; we went outdoors for Tai Chi by the river despite the cold; and we’ll keep doing that as long as we can – though that’s already been more-often than normal for us this far into winter.
The biggest news today around here isn’t about the inauguration or other world news – it’s about Cassie starting her first semester of her Master’s Degree program. She didn’t start out by teaching any lectures today, but she did have classes that she attended as a T.A.; and she also has a schedule for marking assignments and tests that will keep her very busy.
Compared to that next-level for Cassie’s education, our day has been quiet. We didn’t have extra kids for our home-school day; that allowed us to work faster; and then we stayed in for that bonus play time because we couldn’t exactly explain to our friends or neighbors how we got done our lessons and assignments by noon. There was still a bike ride late in the afternoon, but it wasn’t very warm today even at the warmest; so we didn’t do that for very long either. Ehlana and I went to the lab after that while Naomi and Aiden moved on to home or the bakery. Mom brought a dinner-picnic to us; stayed to play for a couple of hours; and then we all came home by a bit after eight. Bath or Jacuzzi time followed; Ehlana and I just finished our bedtime chat; and now we’re both ready to catch up on our sleep for the rest of the night.
That isn’t because we expect to need extra energy for the inauguration tomorrow – though we will be watching it as part of our classes and lessons. We don’t really expect any major troubles in Washington tomorrow; hope that we’ll be right about that; and wish that all of our leaders would stop fighting over stupid things and actually deal with the real and serious crises here and around the world.
I don’t want to get into any of that or start a rant tonight; so I’ll just wrap this up and go get some sleep now.
