I am being very unfair with my recent
comments about Mother Nature, since I only do that on the cold days, but that
won’t likely change; and I’m not complaining today – at least about the
mid-sixties temperatures we’ve had here this afternoon. That was quite a change from first thing this
morning, but while we couldn’t be outdoors for Tai Chi; we did spend some
quality time biking and playing at the park this afternoon.
The change in the weather certainly helped
to make this a pretty good day. I worked
on the family business all morning – along with some chores; played all
afternoon with Michael, Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden; and then worked the
dinner shift at the Inn with Michael while Mom had dinner with four kids before
coming to the Inn for game night. She
also, by the way, did a Magi lesson with them, and while I don’t mention that
very often in my journal; I am glad that they get to do those lessons
together. There is more of that going on
with the younger Magi kids; though Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden are the
biggest single group that knows about each other so far.
Working at the Inn wasn’t tough tonight
because we didn’t have a very large dinner crowd; and game night wasn’t very
busy either because of March Break.
Miranda put it on anyway because it was her big chance to win the senior
title while Dad’s in the city. It was
because of the light turnout that Michael and I stayed for game night – though we
couldn’t exactly claim that we needed to do homework instead while we’ve had
the entire week to get that done. Our
mothers did with that championship, but then Michael and I won the junior title
too; so it was a particularly good night for our families. For me, it was the play time that made that
happen – not winning anything; and I’m glad that we stayed – even if we would
have had a lot of fun with some Michael and me alone time if we’d done that
instead.
There wasn’t any alone time for us after
game night either because Michael’s working the breakfast shift; and we both
have a very busy next few days ahead of us between the work we’ll both be doing
and the family and friends fun time we’ll hopefully fit in around the
work. I’ll write all about that as we go
along with my daily reports; but let’s skip the look ahead so that I can wrap
this up sooner and get on with the napping part of my day.
Mom and I walked home from the Inn with the
twins, Michael, and his parents; we had a little front yard visit before going
on to our house; and I was only slightly-delayed by the goodnight hugs and
kisses that Michael and I shared on his front porch after his parents went
inside for the night. Rebecca went out
to the farm after work tonight; so she’s spending the night there – mostly because
she doesn’t need to be at the Inn first thing in the morning. Once I was home, Mom did a Magi lesson with
me; and then we worked in the office using a time phase until wrapping up our
work by midnight. We both did extra work
because we’re taking the next three days off from everything except the must-do
work that comes up between now and Monday; and I’m glad to have that break
because I won’t have time for more than we already have on the schedule anyway!
Some Jacuzzi time was in order after that;
though we took care of getting Ethan and Ehlana tucked in for the night first
before Mom and I both opted for bedtime soaks in our tubs. The twins, by the way, studied while Mom and
I worked; so they were ready to go to sleep by the time we were ready to come
up to our rooms.
I didn’t multi-task while in the tub, but
only did a last email check after getting into bed with Mandy; and didn’t have
anything new to deal with other than answering one quick email that was
business-related and nothing major. We
do have an adventure day booked for tomorrow, but while I go into nap mode to
rest up for that now; you can just flip the digital page in my future to find
out what that’s all about; so I won’t go there now either. I do want to sleep now, though, and that’s
all of the news for today anyway; so, until next time...
...May the Magi Force be with you!
