Happy 5th Birthday, Brandon Green!

I mention that for future reference that I won’t elaborate on, and while I wasn’t at all in the loop for Brandon’s big day; I hope he’s had fun!

While I hope that’s true for him, we’ve had an uneventful day up to now, though I’m hoping that will be changing soon; so this is going to be a micro-report that will have to be enough for the Magi history books while I get back to living my life.

It’s been another cool, occasionally damp day; we stayed indoors most of the day – including during lunch at school; and Michael and I worked the dinner-to-close shift at the Inn that just ended about fifteen minutes ago.  I had fun working the dining room with Miranda, Rebecca, and the rest of the servers; though we were really busy tonight too.  I’d add more, but Michael and I are working the breakfast shift too, so if I want to have some alone time with him before we get to our sofa sleepover; I need to get to that soon.

Okay, I could technically use a time phase to help us out with that, but that’s just a trade-off from getting tired from staying awake late or through using my Magi talents a bit too much.

All that really matters here is that the best part of my day will be starting as soon as Michael gets here after stopping in at home to get changed and cleaned up; I’ve finished doing the same; and it’s time for me to wrap this up and go have some quality alone time with my boyfriend.  With luck, the best parts of that will be too teen-rated to write about here; but I will include anything newsworthy in the next report! ;^)

I have skipped a few details – like why I’m not about to start watching a movie with Michael and two-to-four kids, but while the twins are here; they’ve already gone to bed for the night – and so have Mom and Dad.  No, they don’t have any special plans for tomorrow – they’re just tired-out too.  You can read all about their day elsewhere in the archives, though, and I really do need to go now; so, until next time...

Happy 22nd Birthday, Jake!
Happy 16th Birthday, Shannon!

I won’t suggest that this will be Jake’s last birthday spent away from home, but it will be the last one he has before moving home again – and that’s not all that much more than a month from now!

Michael and I didn’t get to do much with Jake for his big day for obvious reasons, but we did go over to the Inn early-enough to get in on a video chat with him while he was on his way to his first class of the day.  We didn’t get to talk to Stephanie too, since she was already at her college by then; but the digital visit with Jake was entertaining – especially since Michael and I had the twins, Naomi, Aiden, and Rowen with us while doing that – and the four kids were especially fun while they had their few moments to talk with Jake and wish him a happy birthday.

Shannon’s birthday was something we could get more involved with, but Michael and I had to work the dinner shift too, and Shannon is in Grade Ten; so we weren’t around for a lot of her birthday fun either.  This was a big day for her, though, and while getting her next-level driver’s license was a highlight for her; she was also very excited about having her first birthday with Gil as her boyfriend.  I can relate to part two of that, since I love all of my ‘firsts’ memories with Michael; but still don’t find that having my license is really all that big of a deal.  It was nice being able to drive home from the city on March Break instead of getting help with that, and I might like it more this summer; but we’ll see whether I even have many opportunities to drive anywhere during the holidays.  Shannon is one of the first in her grade to get her license to drive without adult supervision, though; so that might be much different for her anyway.

It’s late and I need to move this along; so let’s do that.

Tai Chi was indoors today; we had cloudy, cool, and occasionally wet weather that kept most of us indoors when we didn’t need to be out and about; and that video chat with Jake was the highlight of our pre-school morning.  Some birthday fun for Shannon at lunchtime was the best part of our school day; though we mostly had fun in our classes too.  While most of Shannon’s friends headed for her place after school, Michael and I went to the Inn; did our homework first; and then worked the dinner shift until we had the kitchen clean and everything ready for game night.  Once we had that done; we went to Shannon’s house too, and while we’d missed the birthday dinner, she’d saved some cake for us; and we stayed and played with our friends until the party wrapped up at ten o’clock.  It was a bit later than that before we left along with Rowen and Tim, but that was mostly because we stayed back while other teens made their escape and wanted to get home to do the homework that most of our friends hadn’t done while at Shannon’s party.

Michael walked me home; Rowen and Tim went with us until splitting off to go to her house; and Michael and I did our goodnight hugs and kisses on my front porch because he wanted to make sure that I didn’t stay up any later than needed because he delayed my bedtime computing.  That meant missing out on our semi-regular Thursday night make-out session, but I didn’t want to be up most of the night – and might have been without that bit of selfless self-control from my boyfriend.

While that make-out time would have been great, I instead went into my house; did a Magi lesson with Mom in the office; and then I came up to my room and got ready for bed.  Once Mandy and I were tucked in; I got to work and she got started on her napping.  It’s too bad that we can’t trade places for that now and then, but Mandy assures me that she’d be lousy at my human jobs; since she thought that all of that work and stress is silly to begin with – and pointless; since she already has humans around to do all of that work for her while also providing her with everything she needs for a perfect, happy life.

Cats really do rule the world! ;^)

Moving along, I worked in a time phase as much as possible; did the rest of my work and studying in real time; and don’t have anything interesting to report for any of those hours of busy – though I did get everything on my to-do list finished and will be able to take the weekend off.  It’s a bit past-two now, so I am going to be sleeping earlier than normal for a Thursday, but I am also still wishing that I’d made the time for Michael too.  I suppose I could have said goodnight to him in the front hallway and used a time phase for that, but Mom and Dad might have noticed us frozen in place there for an extended period of time – not to mention what they might or might not see if we tried to have a bit too much fun while doing that!  I’m just joking about that, since Michael and I are not into that kind of public displays of affection; so I’ll just settle for some happy dreams tonight that will hopefully have Michael there in a starring role.

I should probably get right to that before my mind wanders off and I don’t take that thought with me into dreamland; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 29, 2017

It’s been rainy off and on around here today; with most of the ‘on’ being this morning and again this evening.

I’ve had a good day, but it’s also Wednesday; so Michael worked at the Inn after school; and I came home to spend some quality time on my part-time, family business job.  I did my homework and language studies too; used a time phase when I could – and while I could help Mom, Dad, and the twins to get their work and studying done faster too; so I am also going to be able to have a full night of rest for a change too.

That’s actually my highest priority right now, and there isn’t really any news to add for tonight anyway; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - March 28, 2017

Tai Chi was indoors due to the cool, damp weather; I was indoors for most of the day except for walks to and from home, school, and the church; and I’ve been on the go almost constantly since waking up this morning.

There is nothing interesting to report from my normal school day morning routine; we had a busy day in all of our classes; lunch was a too-short break in the day because Michael and I were busy with other things and only took a bit of time to eat; and then we were busy for too many hours straight while having our band and teen praise team practices.  we were outdoors for the marching band practice, but that was a bit chilly too; so we were glad to get that done so that we could move on to the teen praise team practice.  That was busier with the full run-through for the Easter sunrise service program; and it took a lot longer too – which is why it was heading toward ten-thirty by the time Michael and I got home to my house.

We still had to do our homework after that; Mom did a Magi lesson with us; and Michael and I took care of getting the twins tucked in for the night before he went home at midnight.  Yes, that sounds crazy-late for the twins to still be up, but they are Magi Masters too; and they’d been busy with their college studies while Mom and Dad had been working in the office.  I needed some tub time after Michael left, so I multi-tasked that soak in my Jacuzzi with a time-phased work session that allowed me to do both without using up a lot of ‘real’ time in the process.  I still had a lot of work to do that couldn’t be dealt with in a time phase, though; and that’s why it’s taken me until past-three to get to the journal update part of my day.  The work and studying news would just bore you and put me to sleep faster; so I won’t go there.  I can go to sleep without that help, though, and really need to do that now anyway; so, until next time...

Happy 6th Birthday, Jayden!

Our involvement in his big day was a video chat at breakfast and the gifts we sent for him; but that blip of family fun was entertaining – even if it would be nice to actually get together with our cousins a bit more often when they’re celebrating their special days.

While Jayden was enjoying a lot of birthday fun with his family and friends; we had a fairly-quiet day here.  Tai Chi was indoors thanks to some rain; we had a bit of rain at noon that kept us indoors then too; and then it was cool and cloudy for the rest of the day.  I was at Michael’s for dinner and the evening, but we did our homework with Rowen and Tim first; went for a bike ride; and spent a bit of time with Ethan and Ehlana at the park playground before Michael and I needed to be back at his house to help with the pre-dinner work.

While I get to spend a lot of time with Jacob and Miranda, it’s still really nice to do that when we’re not all busy working at the Inn.  The dinners are always a bonus, and since I haven’t mentioned it in my journal lately – I am never going to let Michael go! ;^)

Okay, I’m not going to keep him just because of the gourmet food that goes along with dating him; but it is a definite plus!  The evening entertainment was pretty good too – and that included our usual music practice; a minor make-out session in Michael’s room; and some television, chat, and cuddle time for the last hour or so I had left before needing to get home by eleven o’clock.  Mom did a Magi lesson with me after that; I was in my bed with Mandy by a bit after midnight; and have spent the past three and a half hours or so doing a lot of family business work and language studying.

That’s pretty much all the news for today, and I seriously need some down time now; so, until next time...
