Happy 36th Birthday, Uncle Adam!
Ehlana:
We have separate updates tonight because
Ethan and I each have a cousin with us for the night while our best friends are
home with their own families after spending most of the day with us until
dinnertime.
My cuddle buddy for the night isn’t
sleeping – she’s borrowing my Jacuzzi; so I have time to do this while Ethan’s
still playing video games with Zack in the lounge. There is a lot to cover since our last
update; so I’ll get right to it.
Our school-time activities kept us busy,
and we had fun, but that also felt like something we had to get through ahead
of the weekend; and then our adventures with our friends and cousins could
really get started. The temperature only
reached into the mid-fifties by yesterday afternoon, but we need to remember
how great that is for early-March; and it was warm-enough for after-school play
time and biking at the park. Having
Brianna and Zack with us for that worked out great for Naomi and me because
Brianna can’t ride the muddy trails at the park yet – or at least she has to
pretend to be a ‘normal’ pre-school kid.
Ethan and Aiden had a tougher time with Zack because he is an overt
daredevil; is up for any challenge that some of our friends like to throw down;
and needs to be reminded not to do anything that is supposed to be beyond his
abilities.
I’m not suggesting that he’d do anything
with his Magi talents, but our true physical capabilities need to be concealed
too – even if you just think of that for having adult-level mental control over
our bodies. We can still be hurt,
though; so taking big risks is still silly anyway – even if we do have Magi
Healers in the house.
Then again – that doesn’t keep Grandpa from
doing things he probably shouldn’t; so maybe Zack just comes by that trait
honestly! ;^)
Moving along, the biking and park play time
was great; we followed that up with a moderately-large, family-and-friends
dinner and a movie night; and then we had six in the lounge for video gaming
until near-midnight when we – the girls – hopped into my bed for the night; and
the boys ended up video gaming themselves to sleep in the lounge. Tai Chi needed to be indoors this morning; we
had a pancakes and bacon breakfast; and then Naomi and Aiden had to head for
home or the bakery for the rest of the morning while we had chores to do around
the house and town. Brianna and I got to
go out with Mom for the fun chores, but that wasn’t horrid for Ethan and Zack;
since Dad let them use their Magi talents for the housework. Zack still grumbled about that, but since he
probably made half the mess on the third floor last night; he should have been
given the entire clean-up – not to mention the fact that he has fun on the rare
occasions he is allowed to do things like that.
We had a light lunch; met up with Naomi,
Aiden, and some other friends for another round of biking and park play
adventures; and the weather was warmer – topping out in the mid-sixties by
late-afternoon. Naomi and Aiden needed
to go home after that, so Mom and Dad only had six for dinner – and they opted
for pizzeria pizza. Sure, with Zack in
the house, that was a scary half-hour or so of food fun, but we survived; and
then headed up to the lounge after the clean-up for another movie and video
gaming evening. Briana had us watch the
Zombies sequel again; I opted for the first bath once the gaming started; and
then Brianna took over the bathroom soon after I got out – and after having a
long bedtime chat with Mom in my room while Dad played games with Ethan and
Zack.
That’s pretty much all I have for tonight;
so I’m going to wrap this up; do a bit of bedtime reading; and then get some
sleep once Brianna is ready for bed too.
We’ve had an awesome first-half of the weekend; hope that Uncle Adam is
enjoying his birthday and weekend away; and I’ll have the rest of this story
tomorrow night – once we have a chance to live those adventures!
This is Ehlana Proctor; live from the
hidden home of the Magi of the Light!

Ethan:
Ehlana beat me to this update by hours;
Zack has worn me down; and I’ll go with her report except to add that I might
need a few days to recover from trying to keep up with our hyper-active cousins
after they’re home with their parents again tomorrow night! ;^)
May the Magi Force be with you!
