Happy 9th Birthday, Natalie
Morris!
Ehlana and Ethan:
Natalie’s birthday party plans got canceled
thanks to the coronavirus; so she was only able to have her best friend over
instead of all of her girlfriends. We
still got our gift for her delivered, and other friends did that too; so we
hope she still had a happy day even without the big party entertainment.
We had a blast last night with dinner; the
Magi play time; music fun; the movies and cuddle time; and the sofa or sleeping
bags sleepover in the lounge. Tai Chi by
the river was awesome this morning; and we’ve had another great weather day
that really feels weird considering everything that is going on right now. Our online lessons and studying after
breakfast was a breeze; we had the full gang for lunch; and then four of us
went for our daily bike ride before moving on to the lab or archives for the
rest of the afternoon.
Naomi and Aiden don’t have as much fun at
the lab as we do, but hanging out together was more fun for them than the home
or bakery alternatives; and there is still a lot to do even if you’re not
really into either the science or the dusty books. We stayed at the lab until near dinnertime;
split up to our own homes after that; and we’ve had a quiet evening here since
then. Mom and Dad had all five of their
kids with them for dinner; we spent some time outside after that – including taking
Silkie for a walk; followed that up with a movie in the living room; and
wrapped up the family time with some music fun that we all got in on.
There is only one day left in our first
home-school week, but we’re only heading to bed now because everyone else in
the house has a busier day planned for Friday.
We definitely don’t have any major plans to rest up for heading into the
weekend. That’s about all we have for
our news tonight, but before we move on to nap time; we’ll include a bit of
news that is getting talked about around town even if national and world issues
are ignored by most of the kids and teens in town.
First up – our country earned the dubious
honor of top spot for most coronavirus cases as of tonight. Sure, that isn’t likely actually true, but
there are likely more countries fudging the numbers for this virus than
accurate reports; so that doesn’t really matter. There is too-much focus on those numbers
anyway – especially when many of the so-called ‘experts’ jump through hoops to
try and make the data fit their goals.
We’ll just point out that the hundreds of thousands of people affected
by the coronavirus – and their families and friends – need our support and
love; and would be happy to get that help without all of the politics and
selfish motivations.
After that, the politics, economics, and financial
issues seem unimportant to us too, but all of those issues are still big news;
and get a lot of attention even here at home.
We’re not going to try and do a rant about any of the decisions being
made by our leaders here and around the world, but it does affect us with the
family business; and those challenges are not making it easier for us to do our
work. Dealing with unwanted government
interventions and hurdles isn’t new, but it would be nice if we could be
surprised now and then and actually get real help during emergencies.
Don’t laugh – it could happen. ;^)
Okay, we’d better call it a night; since it
really is tempting to go on a rant that wouldn’t be helpful at all. We’ll keep praying for the best for everyone;
be grateful for everything we have here at home; and try our best to keep joy
and love at the heart of our lives as we get through this crisis together.
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from
the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
