Ehlana and Ethan:
We were up early to see Cassie, Michael,
and May on their trip to get May’s things from her dorm room; and then we
stayed up for Tai Chi; followed that up with breakfast; and then did some
chores until Mom and Dad both needed to attend a town meeting to deal with
coronavirus planning.
That’s the big story of the day; since our
town leaders have decided to get ahead of expected government restrictions that
are sure to be on the way here – just as that’s happening in major cities
around the country. Non-essential stores
are going to close starting on Monday – though online sales and pick-ups or
deliveries will be available thanks to Rowen and her family. The grocery store, bakery, and other places
will be open, but they’ll restrict the number of customers at any time; and
they’ll have online ordering and deliveries available too. The Inn will stay open, but will only have
limited dining; and they’ll also do take-out and deliveries. Their rooms will still be available, but they’re
canceling most of their group bookings – or have had those groups cancel first.
We will still be supporting our farmers as
needed as we head into spring planting season, but even with that; as much of
that support will be done online or over phones as is possible. There is still going to be a short church
service tomorrow, but that will be as much to discuss these plans with everyone
as for a last sermon before we take a break – and there won’t be any Sunday
school. There will be online church
services too; though there has been no decision on how long that will
continue. There is a lot more details,
but we won’t go over everything. We
should add that our hang-out time with our friends will be restricted starting
on Monday too; so we won’t be hanging out in large groups either at home or
outdoors.
While the parents were at that meeting,
Ethan and I were with our cousins; and we had Jessica Bassett watching us at
Zack and Brianna’s house. Mom and Dad
took us home for a late lunch; and then we met up with Naomi and Aiden for a
bike ride around town that was a bit chilly before we came home again to hang
out in the lounge. We played music and
video games; and then they needed to go home in time for dinner. It’s been quiet around here since then, but
we had a nice dinner with Mom and Dad; and then we studied and did a Magi
lesson in the office until Mom sent us upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time. Cassie, Michael, and May are making the push
to get home tonight, but they’re still in-transit as we’re writing this; and
won’t get home for another couple of hours.
We’re not going to stay up that late; so we’ll
cover their travel story with the next report.
The next few days are likely to be very interesting – and possibly
boring too; so stay tuned – since we’re not using our talent for the Sight to
take a look ahead; and don’t know what will happen around here next! ;^)
Okay, we might know a few things, but let’s
not spoil the surprises that wouldn’t be a surprise for anyone reading this in
our future!
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from
the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
