Happy 9th Birthday, Jayden!
Ehlana, Ethan, Naomi, and Aiden:
The lack of partying for birthdays
continues today, but we wouldn’t have been spending the day with Jayden if all
had been normal anyway; and he’s had fun even without the night out with his
buddies. While that sort of thing is
affecting cousins and friends; our top story today is that we couldn’t do a
family-and-friends’ dinner and a movie night.
Compared to the real problems being dealt with elsewhere, that’s hardly
an emergency for us, but it is still another change to our daily lives that
affects us – and we don’t mean that because of the change in fun level.
We have had another good day; so let’s get
to the highlights; and then we’ll get back to our movie, cuddle, and sleepover
plans.
Tai Chi was by the river again – for the
seven of us in the house this morning; breakfast was light and easy; and then
Naomi and Aiden were here for the online lessons and studying that kept us busy
until lunchtime. The weather hasn’t been
nice all day, but it was for most of the morning and afternoon; so we opted for
a picnic lunch that we took with us for a bike ride around town and at the park. We had fun with that until mid-afternoon;
followed that up with some lab or archives play time; and then Naomi and Aiden
picked up overnight bags along the way to our house. Pizzeria pizza was part of our dinner tonight
because we’re helping to support Rebecca and Jen while their business is taking
a hit without the school orders, teen customers, and visitors that aren’t
coming here at all anymore.
The rain rolled in this evening, so we
mostly stayed indoors except for Silkie’s walk, but we played a board game in
the sunroom; watched a movie; and wrapped up the family time with another blast
of music jamming. We’re in a break
before the last movie that we’ll fall asleep watching, but before we wrap this
up and get on with that; let’s add in some plans we’re working on for next
week.
Aiden’s parents will keep busy with the
bakery – if not as busy as usual with the slowdown at the Inn, Having help with
Aiden and Hailey works for them, but Naomi’s parents want more time with her;
so we’re going to start doing some of our home schooling at her house next
week; and we’ll spend some time with Aiden’s family this weekend and maybe for
a sleepover sometime next week. Mom and
Dad aren’t in need of some kid-free time after a couple of weeks with five ‘kids’
at home, but Cassie and Michael are thinking about taking turns at our house
and his for a week or two at a time.
They might not do that at all for now, but it is an option; and we know
that we’ll be sharing them a lot between now and whenever they go back to
school again.
That’s enough for now. We still don’t really have any plans for this
weekend, but as long as we’re together; what we do isn’t all that important. With that in mind; it’s also time to get back
to the real world cuddling and movie; so we’ll do that; and let you know about
the rest of that story with the next report.
Spoiler alert – two of us will likely be
having a co-ed sofa sleepover! ;^)
