This update is coming to you live from
Nashville!
Before I get to the news of the day – Happy
7th Anniversary, Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne!
This is a strange anniversary for them
because they celebrated it yesterday with the family and a dinner at the
Inn. They needed to do that because Mom
and Aunt Leanne are two of our senior trip chaperones; and we left town
really-early so we could catch our morning flight to Nashville. I’d feel bad about that, but it’s going to be
great to spend the week with two of my favorite women; and Aunt Leanne
definitely made our travel time today a lot of fun!
I don’t want to bore you with the travel
details; so let’s just note that we had a safe trip on buses and planes; and we
were in Nashville in time to enjoy a really great afternoon and evening that
included an unofficial tour of parts of Nashville; a couple of good meals; and
a bit of music fun. Michael and I weren’t
the driving force behind the choice of Nashville for our senior trip, but we
did contribute to the vote to go there over other options; and as music lovers;
we can’t help but love what we’ve seen of the city so far. Our main education and entertainment days
will be tomorrow through Thursday, but in addition to the partial tour between
the airport and our hotel; we went for a walking tour and did a bit of shopping
too around the meals and hotel check-in adventure.
While this report might not sound very
exciting, that’s only because I’m a bit tired after not getting much sleep last
night and having such a busy travel and play day today. I’m also just doing this update and a bedtime
computer check while waiting for Michael to join me – and while Rowen is taking
her turn to get ready for bed. Yes, Mom
and Aunt Leanne are our chaperones, but we’re going to do the room swap anyway;
and they’re going to let us get away with it! ;^)
Don’t make more out of that than there is –
at least for Michael and me. There may
be a bit of make-out time before we get to sleep; but I really need to catch up
on my rest to be ready for our first full play day here in Nashville. Sleeping is an option; and we can always have
a bit more of the teen-rated kind of fun over the next few nights. I do need to wrap this up and get back to the
real world, though, so stay tuned for more news from Nashville with the next
report!
