Cassie's Journal - May 26, 2018

I only have a few minutes for my bedtime computing check before heading out to the back yard for the cousins and some friends camping night we’re having tonight; so this is going to be short and sweet.

Michael and I worked the breakfast shift; I had the rest of the morning off and helped out at home and with the multi-family barbeque lunch that Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne hosted; and then Michael and I went along for the trail ride at the ranch – and had a lot of fun with everyone that went along for that ride with us this year.  We had to be back in town early – which is why we drove Mum’s minivan and had the twins, Jayden, Aiden, and Naomi with us; and we barely had time to grab showers and get changed before we needed to be at the Inn for the dinner-to-close shift.  That was both a lot of work and a lot of fun; we missed out on the family barbeque, play time, and most of the campfire tonight; but we also didn’t have to do the camp set-up or any of the other work that went along with the camping plan.

We are chaperoning boys and girls tents tonight, though; so there will not be any Michael and me alone time for this camping adventure.  That’s likely for the best, since we need to get some sleep and we’re going to have a very, very busy day tomorrow with three buffets at the Inn and the teen-led service at the park; so I should just wrap this up and get outside again since I shouldn’t stay up too much longer while getting the younger cousins settled into their tents and sleeping bags for the night.

Before I get to that; I’ll add the news that the pizzeria had another great day for their opening weekend; the patio tables were apparently nearly-full pretty much from lunchtime until now – and they won’t be closing for a while yet; so Rebecca and Jen are thrilled with how they’re doing – and probably exhausted too.  I’ve just been glad to have had some time to play with my visiting cousins and the rest of our family; since I won’t really be able to do that very much tomorrow.

I can still have a bit more fun with some of them now, though, and really want to do that and then get some rest; so, until next time...

...May the Magi Force be with you!
