Happy 40th Birthday, Mom!
A last minute change of plans has had us
staying in the Phoenix area instead of starting our holiday out with our Grand
Canyon adventure – all due to cooler-than-hoped-for weather at the canyon. We’ll make that a day-to-day decision; pick
the best days we can; and probably head up there something in the middle of
next week.
Hanging out here with afternoon
temperatures in the seventies seemed like more fun than seeing snow in the
Grand Canyon tonight; so we spent the day playing around here with Mom to help
celebrate her special day; we went out for a really nice dinner; and then
Michael and I had grandparent support for a play evening with the kids while
Mom, Dad, Uncle Adam, and Aunt Leanne went out for a date night to check out
the Phoenix nightlife.
Our daytime fun included some shopping,
swimming in the hotel pool, and some nearby sightseeing. Tonight, after dinner, we went to a movie;
went out for night-time walk; stopped for a snack; and then headed back to the
hotel for the night. All six kids are
currently watching a movie in ‘the boys’ room; I’m doing a bit of bedtime
computing while grabbing a shower and getting ready for bed; and I’ll join them
soon for some cuddle time with Michael before bring the girls back here for the
night.
Mom’s had a fun day; I don’t need to know
the details of the rest of her night – just as we didn’t want to know why Mom
and Dad were so especially-happy this morning! ;^)
This update hardly covers all of the fun,
but I’d rather finish getting ready for bed and get on to that cuddle time with
Michael anyway, so I guess we’ll just leave it at that; and I’ll get back to
having fun in the real world.
Until next time...
...May the Magi Force be with you!
