Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 7, 2018

Ethan:

The wet weather continued today; so we stayed indoors most of the time.  Tai Chi was indoors; we drove to and from church; Mom did the same for our afternoon play time at the lab while Dad had some peace and quiet at home for his own homework; and we were home and dry for dinner and a quiet family night after we got back from the lab.

We’re getting to have an early bedtime; so I’ll leave it to Ehlana to cover the movie and sleepover news from last night; wrap this up; and get the extra sleep while I can.

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

I’m tempted to tease Ethan about not wanting to write about the cuddle time with Naomi last night – and being too tired tonight because of that; but I’ll resist the urge while doing that anyway! ;^)

Pizzeria pizza nights are always fun – now that we have that option; so that meal was a great way to start our play night with Mom, Dad, and our best friends.  Mom and Dad watched one of the movies with us after that; so we had three cuddling couples in the lounge until they went to do their own thing for the rest of the night – starting with some more television time in the living room so they could watch something that wasn’t kid-rated for a change.  The kid-couple cuddle and movies time continued in the lounge after they left; and I am not going to out anyone that might have fallen asleep while watching that second show and still cuddling with his or her cuddle buddy.  That did happen, though; and I have the mental pictures saved and available, if needed, for future reference.

That sounds like a very quiet night, and it was, but we had fun; and we stayed up fairly-late before Naomi and I eventually went to bed in my room and the boys camped in the lounge.  Mom and Dad pretended not to believe us when they came upstairs for Tai Chi and found Naomi pretending to sleep while cuddled with Ethan on the sofa, but tricking Mom just isn’t possible; so we know she just played along with it for the entertainment.  Thanks to the rainy day, Dad cooked a hot breakfast; we had a good morning at church; and then a soup-and-sandwiches lunch for four before Mom took Ethan and me to the lab for the afternoon.  I had fun playing in my lab; Ethan and Mom spent most of their time in the archives; and Uncle Adam and Dillon each came to play for an hour or three too.

Our quiet evening at home included a Magi lesson, but Dad had his work done by then; so we watched a show in the living room; I had some Jacuzzi time; and now I’m ready to get some sleep too.  The only news to add is that Cassie starts her first round of freshman mid-terms tomorrow, so it was mostly a study weekend for her, and with her schedule; I’ll guess that even our amazing big sister will be tired out by the time they’re finished those exams and come home for the fall festival weekend on Friday night.

The fall festival will be the story around here by Tuesday or Wednesday when the midway rides begin to arrive and get set up at the park; and it’s a bonus that we’ll only have four days at school before getting to start the fall festival fun on Friday.  I don’t have entries for any of the contests at the festival, but then if they did have a category for bio-engineering; I wouldn’t be allowed to compete anyway – even if I did have my cold cure perfected by the end of the week!

Okay, that’s a weird tangent to wander off on with my thoughts or this report; so I guess that it really is time to get some sleep.  Stay tuned – this could be one of those very interesting weeks.

This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live from what is now my past!
