Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 21, 2018

Ethan:

I did fall asleep last night while cuddled with Naomi and watching Halloween shows, but lasted into the fourth show – if only the first movie; and we did have parental supervision by then because Mom and Dad were with us most of the time.  That was fun while it lasted – both the being awake and nap time; and then we headed for our beds after that movie.

It was cold out this morning, but we dressed warm and went out by the river for Tai Chi anyway.  A hot breakfast helped us with warming up again; we had a good morning at church and Sunday school; and then we had lunch for four before Ehlana and I met up with Naomi and Aiden again for some biking and play time at the park while Dad was busy with his weekend homework.  The weather was warmer by then, but only into the mid-fifties; so our outdoor fun didn’t get too extreme; and we were ready to come home and warm up by four o’clock.  Dinner was at the Inn tonight; we studied in the office after that; and had a long vid-chat with Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim before Ehlana and I were sent upstairs to get started on our bedtime baths.

We’ve done that; had our own bedtime chat; and now I’m ready to crash and nap.  It’s been a good family and friends fun day, so I’m happy and ready to get back to school in the morning.  The Halloween fun will kick up another notch or three too; so we should be in for a pretty good week leading up to the Haunted Halloween Walk entertainment we’ll have next weekend.

Stay tuned; since Ehlana and I are sure that this is going to be a very exciting Halloween!

Ethan – out!

Ehlana:

Ethan’s covered the news of the day pretty well; so I’ll just add a few extra comments.

We always have fun with Naomi and how she is around and with Ethan, but our Moms are a lot like their kids; and Liz has more fun with that than Mom does – especially when she has cuddle-sleeping pictures to share with her friends and neighbors.  Sure, Mom sent those pictures to her last night, but she’s much-quieter about teasing Ethan; and I expect that Aunt Leanne will be just like Liz when it comes to Brianna and boys – whenever our cousin decides that she wants to get involved with boys in even a cuddle-and-nap sort of way. ;^)

Next up, I loved having the long vid-chat with Cassie.  She had more fun on Saturday than we did – even with the studying, but I’m a bit young for spa adventures; so I’m happy with my Jacuzzi – and it doesn’t require a long trip and lots of money for me to enjoy it!  I’m sure that we’ll have more fun at school this week too – unless Cassie’s Professors are going to let them do Halloween crafts and have other kinds of fun instead of their normal work.  That’d be funny, but won’t happen; so the fun level should be higher here.

Finally, we spent time with other friends at the park this afternoon too, but Ethan and I were able to hang out with Naomi and Aiden with just the four of us quite a bit too; and I really like when we can do that without any of the kid-rated drama that goes along with our larger group of friends.  That’s entirely because I get tired of the ‘normal’ level of conversation and some of the humor that just doesn’t work for me, and while that’s unfair to our friends; it is true too.  Naomi and Aiden aren’t the only friends we have with Magi talents, but we’re not supposed to know about most of the others; and they have to play at being normal kids too.  That isn’t as scary as it is with Zack’s chosen persona, but we still have to act like kids our age; and that’s limited when we’re seven.

Okay, we’ll have scarier limits – like when we’re tweens and the boys have to be what passes for ‘normal’ then, but while that’s Halloween-scary; I don’t want to go there tonight.

It’s time to wrap this up and get some sleep anyway; so I’ll end it with that scary thought and try not to dream about that not-so-distant future once I do get to sleep.

This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live from what is now my past!
