Ethan:
It’s my turn for a short update.
Tai Chi by the river this morning was nice;
we had a good day at school that included some outdoor play time; Ehlana and I
played with our friends after school; we had a dinner and a movie night with
the family; and Dad got home in time for some of the movie fun. Naomi and Aiden were here for dinner and the
first show, but then they went home; and have plans with their own families
tomorrow that are fall clean-up-related activities too. The family guests headed home at ten; I’m
tired; and ready to crash and nap; so I’m going to go and do that starting
right now.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
That was fairly-short, Ethan, and I’m tired
too; but have a few more details to add to our report.
Happy 18th Birthday, Madelana!
I know, she’s one of Cassie’s new college
friends, and I won’t exactly be hanging out with her much now – or ever; but I’m
mentioning her special day because our big sister is getting a life at college
and building a home-away-from-home with Michael, Rowen, and Tim; so birthdays
with new friends is part of that as they develop new relationships with their
friends and neighbors. That might not
seem like a big deal, but when you think about it from the perspective of
others that don’t build those community relationships at all; it is worth
mentioning that Cassie is building a group of friends and neighbors that is a
lot like the community she has here at home.
Maybe that’s a bit too much when we are just talking about a birthday
lunch at the college food court, but I am sure that what she’s doing there is
really special.
Moving along, we got a spit or three of
rain overnight, so the grass was a bit wet this morning, but Tai Chi by the
river was still nice thanks to the warm weather. Having the temperature climb into the sixties
helped to encourage our teachers to take our classes outdoors this afternoon;
and the biking and play time at the park after school was great. Dinner was a potluck deal with all of the
parents bringing something – whether that was food, drinks, or desserts; and I like
getting to have different options – just as I love the buffets at the Inn. Halloween was the theme for movie night; the
shows were kid-rated; and we had fun with all of that too. Ethan and I walked Naomi and Aiden home after
the first show and took Silkie for a walk while we were at it during the ‘intermission’
between shows; I got to have some cuddle time with Mom and Dad after that; and
then we wrapped up the second show by ten so that we could all get to bed and
rest up for another fall clean-up day.
That work won’t all be fun, but setting up
for Halloween is always entertaining; so it won’t be all-work and no play
either. We are going to have a long day,
though; so I’ll wrap this up and get to the sleeping part of my day now too.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
