Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 16th Birthday, Geraldine
Sheldon!
We are only mentioning her special day
because we saw her at the mall today – along with the group of friends that
were helping her to celebrate her special day with some back-to-school shopping
and a day in the city. They seemed to be
having fun without any help from us; so we didn’t try to slow them down beyond
a quick chat and best wishes.
Our day began with Tai Chi by the pool; a
swim; and breakfast with Dad before he went to work and we packed up and headed
for the mall again. We finished our
clothes and supplies shopping by noon – including getting quite a few gifts for
most of our fall gift-giving needs; we moved on to more shopping at our
favorite toy store and then Wal-Mart to finish up that shopping and for getting
bulk supplies; and then we grabbed snacks and drinks and headed for home.
There was no hurry for that, but Mom wanted
to be home by dinnertime and then do some work tonight. We made stops at Aiden’s and Naomi’s houses
to drop off their purchases – and they stayed with their families too. Aunt Leanne had been in the city yesterday,
but we still had a bit of fun by dropping off a fast food order anyway, but
that was just a cameo stop too; and then we were home and needed to get the
minivan unpacked and put everything away.
That took a while; we had an easy-dinner after that; and then Mom did a
Magi lesson with us before getting to work in the office. We didn’t work tonight too, and played with
Silkie instead – including taking her for a walk to the park. We don’t mention her care when we’re away
very often – and we haven’t been away in months anyway, but we had family and
friends support for Silkie yesterday and today; and she spent the night with
Brianna last night after they got home from their shopping trip. We should mention her in our journals
more-often, but she’s an everyday part of our lives; and we don’t think about
that as being newsworthy – just as we rarely comment on all of the other
normal, everyday things in our lives.
Our journals would be small booklets every day if we wrote down every
tiny detail of our daily adventures – a potentially very-boring booklet! ;^)
Moving along, we had a music practice after
getting home again; Jacuzzi and tub time just ended; and now we’re winding down
toward nap time while doing this update and having our bedtime chat. The school shopping has us thinking about
getting back to school, but then we’ve been thinking about that over the past
two days because we learned more about other kids and teens and their
back-to-school plans. None of us will
know what will be best for our communities without the benefit of hindsight –
and maybe not even then; but we do hope that everyone makes the back-to-school
choices with the best interest of the kids’, teachers’, and other employees’
best interests as the top priority.
If you’re reading this in the
distant-future; you could try jumping ahead to next June to find out if we know
those answers by the end of this coming school year!
Unlike some students around the country, we
still have a bit more than two weeks left to our extended summer break, but we
are looking forward to getting back to school – even if that will be part time
at least for now. We should mention that
those part-time plans can and will be adapted as needed – either with returning
to full-time classes or going the other way and back to at-home and online
work. We’ll have more on all of the school
plans as we get back to our classes again; so we don’t need to get into any of
the details now just to cover those stories as they happen next month.
That is pretty much all we have for today
from home. We missed out on a couple of
great-weather play days, but then a lot of our friends have missed at least one
day this week for the same shopping reasons.
We will be heading into the weekend tomorrow, though, and should rest up
to be ready for the work and fun; so we’re out of here.
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from
the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
