Happy 10th Birthday, Samantha
Norton!
Ehlana and Naomi are at Samantha’s birthday
party today; and will be spending the night there – though their camping will
be indoors due to risk of thunderstorms tonight. Aiden and I will be camping in the lounge
tonight; and will likely stay up too-late with video gaming; but that’ll be
news for the next update.
The only news we’ll write about now won’t
take long; and then we’ll get back to playing again. Our day – for Ehlana and I – started with Tai
Chi by the river – the last we’ll have with Cassie, Michael, and May for a
while. We had a last breakfast with them
too; helped to pack the car – including with Mandy; and then they hit the road
for college – along with Rowen and Tim in his Corvette. Naomi and Aiden came over in time for a last
visit with our favorite collegians; and then we headed over to the lab for a
couple of hours because Ehlana wanted to play there for a while ahead of
Samantha’s birthday party. Naomi and
Aiden opted for a visit to the archives with me. We had fun with that; and then came home
again so that the girls could get ready for the party.
While the girls moved on to their birthday
party adventures; Aiden and I took a picnic lunch with us; went biking on the
trails; and we’ve spent most of the time since then hanging out with some of
our friends – while most of the girls our age are at that party too. It is hot today, so swimming was part of the
fun; and now we’re indoors for a break due to a thunderstorm that’s rolling
through – but won’t last long. The rest
of the news for today – and the girls’ party report – can wait for our next
update; so we’ll wrap this up and move on.
Ehlana and I are missing Cassie and Michael
– and May – today, but our friends are helping us out; and we’re managing to
multi-task the sadness with the happy and fun.
We’ll hope that’ll be true for Cassie and Michael too – and will be;
since they get to have nearly two weeks until their classes begin again for the
fall session. We’ll keep you posted on
that now and then too, but that really is all for today.
