Happy 21st Birthday, Patrick Emerson!
Happy 19th Birthday, Micah Byrd!
We haven’t talked with Patrick or Micah today, but did send family gifts; and expect that they’re having an interesting day with this being their first birthdays that have been together and at the townhouses with their girlfriends. Our day hasn’t been that kind of fun, but then they still have normal classes and studying today anyway; so maybe we have had more fun!
Okay, that probably isn’t true since we were busy at school during the day; we moved on to play at the lab or archives after school; and then we had a work evening in the office with Mom and Dad after another barbeque and salads dinner. All of the work and hanging out with Mom and Dad was collectively great and we got a lot done; so we’re happy as we are winding down toward nap time. It has also been a long day including the equivalent of a few hours of extra work during the time phase we used tonight; and that explains why we’re getting tired and need to recharge.
Cassie and Michael have had a long, busy day too, and we had a vid-chat with them tonight – or early Wednesday morning local time for them; so we’re actually reporting on their yesterday. Let’s add that they have a full schedule ahead of them now while we’re sleeping; and they’ll be wandering to the east of Moscow today – though not more than a couple of hours away from the city. Their experiences in Russia so far are likely different thanks to Cassie’s language skills, and we’ve always had a different perspective for other countries and cultures, but they also really love everything about their experiences so far and they are also making new friends along the way.
That last thought has me picturing a future when Cassie will be busy full-time just keeping up with her friends around the world without time for anything else, but while that is funny to think about; she’ll likely just have very large groups set up for messaging and emails.
Moving along, I’m not going to offer any world news tonight, but will mention that there still isn’t any serious, good news happening around any of the current conflicts that we’re worried about; and it continues to be disappointing and horrifying to know that our world leaders continue to care so little for the people that are suffering the most in the midst of those battles.
I’d better wrap this up now, since just thinking about that has me itching to start another rant, so that’s all for tonight; and we’re out of here and off to dreamland soon.
