Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 3rd Anniversary, Jeff and Carolyn Morris!
Their special day wasn’t something that we helped out with at all, but we’ll hope that they’re having fun with their families and friends.
Thanks to another nice-weather day, we had fun at school with bonus outdoor time; we chose to bike and play with our friends after school; and then we made up for our original plans by work-playing at the lab or archives after an easy-meal break with Mom and Dad. Our biking included riding part of the trail toward Quarry Lake, and since even-warmer weather is in the forecast; we spent some time chatting about doing more trips to our favorite campground once it opens and the water warms up enough for the water play options to be fun for us. We’d like to actually do some overnight camping there too, but parental permission for that without chaperones might be a problem even for us! If that doesn’t work out for us, we’ll still do a lot of camping this summer; and biking out to Quarry Lake for day trips will still be an option.
Moving along, we got a lot of work done at the lab or archives tonight; stayed a bit too-long because of an experiment that I got into and then needed to finish – and yes, I knew that before starting it and did it anyway. Mom cuts me a lot of slack on that sort of thing, but that also meals that it is getting late now and we need to get some sleep soon. That’s why I am not going to get into any major news or other commentary tonight; so let’s do the Cassie and Michael update and wrap this up.
It is a bit weird to write about their travels and work, and for tonight; that’s partly because I already mentioned the basics of their plans for Wednesday while they are currently getting started on their Thursday as we’re writing this. The work for their ‘yesterday’ included a charity site visit that was the highlight of their day, but then they also fit in a bit of sightseeing along the way; and there was a charity social event and dinner in the evening that helped them out with making a few new connections with local community leaders that will help them with doing more in the future. As for their ‘today’ plans, their work and meetings will take them to the south of Moscow; and there will be more driving and only two stops with one charity project and the other a site visit to a tech factory. They have had decent weather so far while in and around Moscow, so that makes their adventures more-fun; though maybe we shouldn’t be thinking that way when they are also so close to the fighting in Ukraine and also meeting with charities that are aiding the refugees that are in Russia from eastern Ukraine. That, by the way, is something that doesn’t get reported on in western media – the fact that Russia is actually the country hosting the largest number of Ukrainian refugees and that is mostly because that is the safest place for Russian-speaking Ukrainians to go.
That’s getting too-serious, and I’ve already still managed to drag this out longer than planned; so I’ll stop now – and Ethan will thank me for that; since he’s even more-tired than I am right now. We’ve had another good day and got a lot done too; so the effort has been worth it. Nap time is imminent now; so we’re out of here.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
