Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 3rd Birthday, Dustin Spencer!
Since Cassie and Michael were away, we helped out by delivering a gift from them to Dustin while at church this morning, but that was our only involvement in his special day; and his family and friends took care of making sure that he’s had a happy day. While we’re thinking about them, Cassie and Michael are in Moscow tonight after flying there from Georgia; they loved their visit with May and Lee; and now they’ll get back to work again tomorrow.
Our story since our last report included a bike ride and park play time with our friends; dinner and a play evening at Sophia’s house that included a music jam session that her father and brother joined us for and a couple of movies along the way to our co-ed sofa sleepovers in the game-music room. We loved starting our Sunday with Tai Chi by the river at Sophia’s house and then the breakfast that we helped to cook. The clean-up wasn’t as much fun, but that didn’t really take long and then we had a good morning at church and Sunday school as we moved into a new lesson block after the last couple of months of Easter-related messages and study. Our top entertainment of the day was our family-and-friends’ canoe ride; the weather was great for that with a high around seventy-two; and we still had time for a bit of biking and park play for the kids after that before we were all together again for a pot-luck and grilled dinner that Mom and Dad hosted.
After a few busy nights in a row, we didn’t have any special plans for tonight. We took care of the post-dinner clean-up while most of our guests moved on to their homes or elsewhere; Mom did a Magi lesson with us and we did some work in the office; and then it was bath or Jacuzzi time by nine o’clock because Mom didn’t want us staying up late again tonight. That isn’t because of wanting us to be ready to help out with defending the planet against the solar eclipse tomorrow, but then that’ll only be a partial eclipse for our area, and while there will be a science lesson for everyone at school on the event for the afternoon; that will mostly just be some bonus play time that we’ll get to enjoy – along with another great weather day. We do want to be ready for our school week, though, and don’t really have any other personal news; so let’s move along and only add in a couple of news stories from around the world.
Nothing has been solved in the Ukraine conflict; and we’ll pay more attention to that region while Cassie and Michael are visiting parts of Russia where they could have risks even though most of their work is charity-related and meant to help people most-affected by the conflict or with other challenges – including the flooding that has been another recent problem there. The problems in the Middle East are getting worse, and while we keep hearing talk of doing better; that isn’t showing up in many actions – especially after the recent attacks on aid workers and a hospital in Gaza and a bombing of an Iranian embassy by Israeli forces. I really don’t want to get into a rant about any of that tonight, so I won’t go there, but know that we really wish that we could intervene and knock some sense into world leaders; and put an end to all of the insanity.
Let’s wrap this up now so that I really don’t go there. Stay tuned, and as long as we really don’t have anything to fear from that eclipse; we’ll be back with our next report sometime tomorrow night. Then again, if we are in any serious danger, you might not be reading this at all in our future; since there wouldn’t be anything left of our archives to read! Ethan only finds that mildly-amusing and entirely-absurd, but that is at least a happier note to leave this on; so we’re out of here! ;^)
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
