Ehlana and Ethan:
Our weekend is near an end, and we’re tired; so this will probably be a brief update – unless I get wound up while writing it! ;^)
First up, Aiden and I had fun with our end of the babysitting adventures at the Palmer’s home; we got to have the Stone family kids too; and the babies and toddlers kept us very busy while they were awake. The good news for taking care of younger kids is that they do eventually go to sleep a lot earlier than older kids; so we also had some very quiet hours too between bedtime and when the parents got home and we moved on to the co-ed sofa sleepover that I had Aiden with me for while Ethan eventually went home with Naomi to her house. They had a good night at Violet and Dillon’s house too; their babysitting stories weren’t really any different than ours except that their dinner options were different and didn’t include Pizzeria pizza as ours did for the kids in our gang that could eat pizza. I’ll also add that the food casts are much-lower for toddlers, and we know that for sure; since we have been there for the stacks of pizzas needed to feed Zack, Eli, and any gang of boys around their age!
Naomi made sure that Ethan had a very happy end to his day, and they went with the sleepover at her house because Eli was at Zack’s for the night before they finalized that option for themselves; so they didn’t have them to deal with again last night. We were split up this morning for our Tai Chi workouts and breakfast too; Aiden and I had more fun for both; and Ethan helped his future father-in-law with most of the work before and after breakfast while their favorite girls took extra time getting ready for church. We were reunited during the church service; Sunday school was really good too; and then we only split up after church for long enough to get changed and ready for a play afternoon.
The high today topped out a hair above sixty, and that was nice-enough for us to decide to bike to Quarry Lake and back with a small gang of cousins and friends that kept all of us out of the parents’ way for a few hours while they opted for other adventures or work. Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron were with us for lunch at our house; everyone else met up with us there before we hit the trail; and the biking and fun with our friends was definitely a highlight of our day. Even with younger kids along, we still made good time; had an hour or so to wander around at Quarry Lake; and we were home in-time for the early dinner plans that some of the kids or teens had with their own families. Our four best friends didn’t have early plans, but they were each with their own families for dinner and the rest of the day; so Ethan and I were on our own with Mom and Dad for dinner and a quiet evening in the house.
Mom went with a fairly-easy meal that included an easy clean-up that Ethan and I took care of; Dad had his work finished by dinnertime; and we watched a bit of television and enjoyed some quiet chat time with only a short Magi lesson that Mom and Dad did with us together before Ethan and I came upstairs for early bath or Jacuzzi time. We’re feeling clean, warm, and a bit drowsy now; so that’s pretty much all we have for tonight.
We do want to mention that Cassie and Michael are in St. Petersburg; they spent most of their Sunday doing some chilly sightseeing around the city; and they’ll be waking soon to get their Monday started on their final work week in Russia. We’ll have more on their adventures as usual, but we’re also happy that they will be home comparatively-soon too. They’ll be happy about that too, since it will definitely be a lot warmer here than there both now and by the time they get home again!
Being warm in our beds and sleeping soon feels like the right move for us now, though, so that really is all we have; and we’re back to living our ‘real world’ adventures starting with some quality nap time!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
