Ehlana and Ethan:
It is obvious to us that we have been spoiled by so much great spring weather! Yes, we are still going out to play with our friends now as we transition from academic adventures to weekend family-and-friends’ fun, but with a high that is just a hair or two above sixty; we are not as-excited as usual.
This update is early because we’re expecting to have friends over for the night, and since we need to meet up with some of those friends soon; let’s move this a long a bit more-quickly. At the top of our news list for right now is word that Dad is going to be home in time for dinner! That’s news, since Anna Marie has helped him out with getting all of their work finished early; and we’ll love it if they can get home earlier from their weeks in the city – or maybe even have shorter work weeks while there! Mom is hosting a family-and-friends’ dinner, so that’s going to be great too, but we aren’t being recruited for the cooking and will likely be drafted for the clean-up and some kid control duties during and after that meal. We are only going to be biking with our friends, but haven’t really worked out anything beyond that; and only hope to get approvals for co-ed sofa sleepovers with our four best friends. It wasn’t much above freezing first thing this morning, but we still went out by the river for Tai Chi; and then warmed up with a hot breakfast. Our school day was uneventful, and while we had fun; there wasn’t really anything to write about for a day that really was a standard round of lessons and classwork.
Finally, for this report, Cassie and Michael either are sleeping by now or will be soon as they’ve ended their Friday – and their time in the Black Sea region of Russia. Everything they’ve done has been very successful and they’ve done more than planned with some of those charities and businesses; so they are happy – especially after wrapping up their day with some seaside dining and sightseeing fun. They are going to miss the warm weather too – and a lot more than we are; since it has been snowing in St. Petersburg and it will be around freezing for them when they arrive tomorrow! That sounds strange, but they are going to be around twelve-hundred miles north of where they are now; so the changes shouldn’t really be surprising. That does have me thinking about a news story from the weekend that wasn’t a major event, but was about a teen that train-surfed on the high speed train from Moscow to St. Petersburg – a four-hour journey at speeds that can exceed one-hundred-and-fifty miles per hour. Yes, doing that is at least a bit crazy, but think about doing that when the wind chill would be well-below freezing for at least some of that trip! It is no wonder that the boy was caught; since he was likely a Popsicle by the time he arrived!
Okay, that’s more than enough for today. We’ll have the rest of our story for tonight with our next report and now we’re out of here and back to our real-life adventures with our family and friends.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
