Ehlana and Ethan:
We got the snow and cold overnight and into this morning; so that was the news story of the day. There wasn’t a major amount of snow on the ground when we got up for the day, but there was enough that we shoveled the driveway and sidewalks instead of Tai Chi. Mom fed us a hot breakfast once we were done, cleaned up, and ready for school; and then we had some snow play time with our cousins and friends along the way to school – and no, a late-April snowfall was not an excuse for a snow day from school!
The temperature didn’t stay below freezing for long, so the snow was soon melting fast even as it stopped coming down and the weather system moved out of the area. That turned everything to mush, so outdoor play time wasn’t really interesting for us – and had everything to do with our choice to play at the lab once we were set free from school for the day. Those adventures in science or the archives were entertainment highlights for our day; and then we followed that up with a quiet dinner and study evening with Mom once we were home again.
That’s pretty much all of the news we have for our own adventures, but we should mention that the farmers in the area have been worried about the freeze and snow. We’re not worried about crops that we’re working with them on through the lab, but there could be issues with other early crops. It might be a while before we’ll know, but everything might be okay – especially if the snow actually managed to insulate those budding plants until the temperature warmed again. We do not want to get into a commentary on agricultural engineering tonight; so let’s move on.
Our last bit of news is about tomorrow. Mom is going to the city; and we’ve been booked for a sleepover at the Carringtons instead of with our best friends. We spend time with our aunt, uncle, and cousins on a regular basis – even if we don’t write about those cameo moments all that often, but we’re also looking forward to spending an afternoon and evening with them when we won’t also be sharing them with others – and that is something we haven’t done as often in a while because we’re all just that busy even during a pandemic!
We’ll let you know how that goes for us over the next couple of updates, but that is all for tonight; so, until next time...
