Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - April 10, 2021

Ehlana and Ethan:

Congratulations to Carolyn and Jeff Morris!

Their wedding was the top news of the day – though all of the rain for their wedding was second on that list.  The really heavy rain did at least come this morning, but they still had to deal with light rain in the afternoon and a damp night too.  That sort of thing does actually happen now and then here in our awesome little corner of the world; so we’re only noting that here in our journals as a reminder that Magi have the same normal issues as everyone else.

Since we’re already on the wedding story, we can report that the rain did not get in the way of a happy day for Carolyn, Jeff, their families, and friends – though it did change up their plans a bit when some of the usual work – like decorating cars – couldn’t be done at all.  We weren’t involved in their special day, but Mom and Dad attended the ceremony this afternoon while we worked at the lab and archives instead.  They didn’t go to the dinner-reception because the original guest list had been kept small because of the pandemic, but we did send family gifts – including from Cassie and Michael; and we’re sure that they’re still having fun with that party while we’re getting ready for an early bedtime.

As for our personal news since our last update, the barbeque dinner last night was awesome; we enjoyed that meal with all of our available home town relatives and quite a few friends; and then our evening included park play time, some games back at home, and then our co-ed sofa sleepover with Naomi and Aiden.  That last part of our day included a movie that we didn’t watch to the end and some quality cuddle time, but we also ran out of steam earlier than expected and fell asleep long before the first movie would have ended.

Tai Chi was indoors today due to the rain, but more-fun with Naomi and Aiden.  Dad drove them home or to the bakery after breakfast; we did some chores around the house with Mom; and then headed to the lab.  We took lunches along so that Mom and Dad could leave us there and deal with their own work and then getting ready for the wedding; and we had fun playing with our toys – whether in the lab or archives – until we headed home in time to help out with making dinner.  We’ve had a quiet evening at home since then with just Mom, Dad, and Silkie around; don’t have anything newsworthy to write about from our adventures in the office and a bit of fun time with the parents that just ended before we came upstairs and got ready for bed; so we’ll just wrap this up and go get some sleep.

The first half of our weekend hasn’t exactly been a remember-forever adventure full of thrills and non-stop excitement, but we have still had a good day; we got a lot done – particularly at the lab; and we’re happily-tired if not exhausted from too-much fun.  That really is all for tonight too; so, until next time...
