Happy 10th Birthday, Susan Connor!
It feels strange to be starting our Good Friday update with those happy best wishes, but then Susan is also still having a birthday party and sleepover with her girlfriends – a party that Naomi and I will be going to soon while Ethan and Aiden will have to entertain themselves for the rest of the day.
Our day so far began as muted as usual for Good Friday through to lunch time. The church service was solemn, but kid-appropriate; and the only change today was a notable reduction in the need for masks and social distancing thanks to the vaccine clinics. Yes, we have some visitors to town for the holiday weekend too, but not really very many; since most people are still avoiding holiday travel – at least for our hometown families. Moving along, Mom and Dad set us free for some biking and play time after lunch; we did that with Naomi, Aiden, and some other friends; and this update is happening while Naomi and I are getting ready for Susan’s party and sleepover. Ethan is packing an overnight bag too, but he’ll be at Aiden’s house tonight while Cassie and Michael are having a family day with his side of their family and Mom and Dad are getting weekend homework finished today instead of tomorrow or on Easter Sunday.
The rest of our news for today will have to wait for our next report; since we’ll both be too-busy having fun with our friends. The weather is really nice again this afternoon, and we’re ready to move on now; so that’s all we have for today.
